The ball was in their best players hands to make a play to tie or win the game. Players gotta make plays. Funny how you never hear what a great play call by Amaker to win vs Oregon. Sha was a player making a play.An ending we all know to well
Maryland doesn't even get a game tying or winning shot off at the end..
woah. i remember this board going nuts that random kid went off. great catch.BTW that kid Hall was a freshman in that great game at The Rock a few years ago and went like 7/7 out of nowhere is still on MSU, lol.
right but when everyone just stands around you allow the defense to put the clamps on that player. they lost the previous game the same exact way .The ball was in their best players hands to make a play to tie or win the game. Nobody's standing still with 6 seconds to go and before they got a chance to do anything Young lost the ball. You want to talk about the previous 39 minutes and change there was a good amount of that. It's a bad team with 3 really good players. But the 5 or 6 times I watched them there's no production from anyone other than their top 3. Long actually gave them something today.right but when everyone just stands around you allow the defense to put the clamps on that player. they lost the previous game the same exact way .
Needed the time to pick a good red wine.Kevin must have wanted to save that last timeout to cash in a Sunday special for a free meal at a local restaurant or something.
Haven't you heard? He's a beer guy now.Needed the time to pick it a good red wine.
But he won in the tournament last year at MarylandI'll keep harping on this . One NCAA win in 12 years to me is a major red flag ..
Maryland brass overlooked that so let's see how it shakes out.
We are not a "major program"?Willard is a solid guy and I backed him fully. He’d do well at a place like Seton Hall. But let’s not forget his success came only after the Big East lost Louisville, UConn, Pitt, Syracuse and the major downfall of Georgetown. Five top 25 programs he no longer had to compete with.
I think he’d still do fine at SHU. But he is not suited for major programs
I think his attitude would fit Sha's style to a T. Wants to win, wants to D up, team guy. I agree he would be a nice player off our bench.Jahari had a nice game today: nine points coming off the bench. Wish we had him coming off our bench.
Have u seen his last recruiting class? Totally mailed it inWillard is a solid guy and I backed him fully. He’d do well at a place like Seton Hall. Yeah he slithered by in a first round win then sent home…again. But he won in the tournament last year at Maryland
I am just not a fan of today’s specific end game strategy.Nobody's standing still with 6 seconds to go and before they got a chance to do anything Young lost the ball. Thank God Sha always calls a TO, as did a McDermott. If you trust your O, always reset and settle kids down.I am just not a fan of today’s specific end game strategy.
Yes they got a stop but rebounded the ball with 6 seconds to go, no timeout, let his best player do his thing, and they keyed on him. Young wasn’t passing that ball. Ended up being his 7th turnover of the game.
36 seconds in the game at home and MSU had just entered into the 1 and 1. I try to trap for a steal and then extend the game. Put pressure on the kids to make FTs.
Also if you don’t get a stop (game over). Also if they get an offensive rebound (game over). Too many negative outcomes letting them bleed the clock down like that.
Sarcasm?Thank God Sha always calls a TO, as did a McDermott. If you trust your O, always reset and settle kids down.
Unless of course you are Creighton and had one turnover and should have had another that would have ended the game, on out of bound situations.Thank God Sha always calls a TO, as did a McDermott. If you trust your O, always reset and settle kids down.
I agree. They are in between right now, not awful, but lacking a player or two. Why the disdain by some of our fans? The guy ran a very respectable program.I always liked Willard and appreciated what he did for our program. Nonetheless, i always thought there was risk for him moving to a bigger program. Maryland will not have patience. He actually had pretty good first year at Maryland. I don't see him making tourney this year unless they make a big end of season run. As a result, the seat next year will be fairly warm. He could easily get run out in 3 years.
No. Is that a serious questionWe are not a "major program"?
What the hell is this crap!?Willard is a solid guy and I backed him fully. He’d do well at a place like Seton Hall. We most certainly are a high major in a power 6 conference, debatedly the best for basketball.No. Is that a serious question
We play in a major conference but we are in no way a major program. There’s maybe 40 major programs throughout the country. Ask anybody outside the NY metro area and they’ll tell you the same thing. It’s not an insult to us it’s just the facts. If you think otherwise you’re being a homer. We most certainly are a high major in a power 6 conference, debatedly the best for basketball.
Care to explain your confusion? What the hell is this crap!?

Yes I do and there was nothing confusing about it. So again, explain yourself..You don’t know what you wrote?
By your logic DePaul is a major program.. discussion over…If you play in a power conference and are a high major team then you are a major program.
You can come up with some other term for what you might be talking about. Perhaps you mean highly funded program. But if that's what you mean, then Maryland might not fall into that category. Though it has more resources than Seton Hall, the lion's share goes to football. Like us, they are just now building a practice facility.
Btw, the Big East spends more on men's basketball than any other conference.
It is by league, budget, etc. I think you might be looking for the adjective Blue Blood or perhaps "storied".By your logic DePaul is a major program.. discussion over…
Not many programs can use those adjectives. It is by league, budget, etc. I think you might be looking for the adjective Blue Blood or perhaps "storied".
Every team in the power 6 conferences are considered high major programs, the records don't matter.By your logic DePaul is a major program.. discussion over…
