NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Faith Masonius (Spring Lake, N.J.) was named BIG EAST Women's Basketball Player of the Week and Jada Eads (Orlando, Fla.) earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors on Monday.

It's the first time since Feb. 5, 2001 that Seton Hall swept the two weekly major awards with two different players. Eads won both BIG EAST Player and Freshman of the Week last week.

Masonius continued her breakout season with a pair of significant BIG EAST performances last week for Seton Hall. On Wednesday at Villanova, Masonius had a team-high 17 points to go with five rebounds and two steals. Down a point and surrounded by four defenders, Masonius flipped the ball over her head, backward, and into the basket for a game-winning, buzzer-beater. Against Georgetown on Saturday, Masonius poured in 21 points on an efficient 7-for-11 shooting to go with six rebounds and six assists.

After collecting 11 points and five rebounds in a road victory at Villanova on Wednesday, Eads took her game to a new level on Saturday. Against Georgetown, Eads erupted for a career-high 27 points on the strength of 5-for-10 shooting from three-point range. She scored all eight of Seton Hall's points in the extra session and her final trifecta gave the Pirates the lead for good with under a minute left in overtime. She also had a team-high seven assists to go with four rebounds and four steals.

Members of the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll include: Creighton's Morgan Maly, Connecticut's Sarah Strong, DePaul's Taylor Johnson-Matthews, Georgetown's Ariel Jenkins and Marquette's Skylar Forbes.

Seton Hall will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 11 when it hosts Creighton in historic Walsh Gymnasium. Tip time is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed live by the BIG EAST Digital Network and available for FloCollege subscribers.
