Monmouth should have to win their conference tournament with that loss to Army.

that is perception vs reality; coming into today had a ooc rpi of 2, all comes down to what is the bubble like in 2nd week of march...however they can't afford more than 2 more losses now that maac is coming up

Those are 2 badddd losses..they played way too many games on the road. Bad job scheduling.

If they didn't play those road games they are under the radar like they always are. They are a good team but will come back to earth.

They didn't need 7 ooc road games. No reason to play Army on the road. Obvs I understand at Georgetown, Usc, Ucla, etc

why army gym is a tough game, they are vet squad, pat league may be there's this season

monmouth did play wagner at home too but yeah they should have scheduled njit, bucknell and lehigh at home for the fans sake

Army is a real tough place to play in any sport. They have no problem filling up the gym, pool, wrestling venue etc. it helps to have a built in fan base within walking distance and are required to attend. Went there 2x while at SH and it was loud too say the least, not to mention intimidating.

Those Army teams in the 70s with Gary Winton and coached by that other guy were tough. Some great games vs SHU.

The challenge for them is basically any conference loss will be a weak one.

How about for one..get some games for your fans?!
They are monmouth, a bad team in one of the worst conferences, when making a schedule teams expect them to go on the road, at best they get a 2 for 1.

I'm not talking about getting high majors there. Just get 2 or 3 games for your fans. Playing Army on the road is a lose-lose. That loss pretty much ruined any chance they have at getting an at large

monmouth a bad team and maac one of the worst conferences?

Monmouth is good, but the conference is down this year, farther than its been a while. Teams like they had with Iona and Manhattan recently aren't there.

maac has always been an offensive explosion league; iona's best player when healthy is a top 30 college player in America, manhattan has a down roster, monmouth has a great pg and if some of these kids figure out their roles a bit could be a fun story in 8-9 weeks

will those three teams not finish in top three in the league? maybe manhattan drops a bit but the maac tourney is where it counts

Yes...when Monmouth was making this schedule they were a bad team. And yes the MAAC is one of the worst conferences in the nation. Thanks for asking though.

monmouth has a ooc rpi of 12, it must have been luck, maac top to bottom better than meac, swac, southland, wac, ivy, nec, southland, southern, america east, cusa

I can see you still did not get my point. MAAC is a 15 or 16 seed every season, they are one of the worst conferences is the nation.
