VERBAL COMMIT - SETON HALL
NJ Hoops: Why did you decide on Seton Hall?
JR: I felt the most comfortable there. I have a good relationship with the coaches
NJ Hoops: What do you like about the coaches there?
JR: They’re genuine. I had a better relationship with the coaches there than anywhere else.
NJ Hoops: When did you decide?
JR: Last Saturday
NJ Hoops: Was there one coach recruiting you more than the others? Or was it a group effort?
JR: Mostly Coach Holloway
NJ Hoops: When did they start recruiting you?
JR: Last year and they have been following me since. They got on me hard over the summer.
NJ Hoops: When did they first see you play?
JR: Last year in a tournament in the Bronx.
NJ Hoops: What did they say your role would be?
JR: Have a chance to make an impact. I have a chance to get Desi’s [Rodriguez] minutes.
NJ Hoops: What did you do on the visit?
JR: Went to eat a restaurant. I hung with the guys. I got to see everything and talked with the coaches.
NJ Hoops: Was the location a factor?
JR: Yes definitely. I wanted my family to be able to see me play. They play in the Big East with more games in the area.
NJ Hoops: How did you like the players?
JR: They’re really cool. They’re the best guys I met. No egos. They’re excited for me.
NJ Hoops: Was the school's academic reputation a factor?
JR: Yes. Their Business School is really good.
NJ Hoops: What were the other schools that you were considering?
JR: My final four were Wichita State, Penn State and St. Louis.
NJ Hoops: What other schools offered scholarships?
JR: I think I had about 35 offers.
NJ Hoops: Did you visit any other schools?
JR: My final four.
NJ Hoops: What school was the first to reach out to you and what school was the first to offer?
JR: My first offer was actually from a D-2 school LIU Post.
NJ Hoops: Who is the best player you ever played against?
JR: Cameron Reddish and Marvin Bagley
NJ Hoops: There must have been some people along the way that helped you out in getting you the scholarship. Are there any people you want to thank?
JR: My family. My Mom and Dad
NJ Hoops: How does it feel to have the decision behind you?
JR: It’s a big relief. The process was tough on me and my family. My sisters went to Penn State. But I kind of wanted to make my own way.
NJ Hoops: You have had a great career in high school, camps, and AAU, are there any highlights that stand out?
JR: When I was at Baldwin we won the Long Island championship. That was a great feeling. In EYBL making the Peach Jam.
NJ Hoops: How tall are you and how much do you weigh?
JR: 6 foot 6, 205 lbs.
NJ Hoops: What would you say are your strengths and what would you say you had to continue to improve on?
JR: My strengths are my versatility. I can shoot, rebound. To play at the next level I have to improve my dribbling.
NJ Hoops: Thanks and best wishes. It's good to see all the hard work pay off.
