New season begins tomorrow

Here’s hoping.

Some optimism can creep in with tangible progress. That means individuals are getting better (I think some already are), the team level of play improves with guys in roles, and we get wins. Nobody wants to sit here in March at 8-23, 3-17 talking about Dual’s A:T improvement only for him to be signed away by Ole Miss.

I think we’re likely a 4 to 6 win team in league at best. Too many weaknesses offensively speaking for us to be competitive.

Going to be tough on all fronts with some hard questions/challenges the Administration/Athletic Department is going to have to consider to get the Program back on track.

The college basketball world has changed significantly with the emergence of NIL.The Administration is going to have to make a major change in stepping up to rebuild the program and sustain excellence in the future.I don't have confidence that they have the ability or qualifications to do that.We have been doing things the same way for a long time at SHU.

Want to try a clean slate and generate some optimism leading up to Armageddon with St. John’s at The Rock? Here you go…

12/17 at Villanova
12/22 vs. Georgetown
12/31 at Xavier (note Tweet below)
1/8 vs. DePaul
1/11 at Providence
1/15 at Butler
——————
1/18 vs. St. John’s

That’s a pretty good starting schedule, including about 2 weeks of practice time around the Xavier game without playing anyone.

We are going to absolutely tank somebody’s resume and be the reason they miss the tournament. Here for it!
Doubt it but I do believe we have a chance to win a good number of big east games. The conference is bad. The difference between Seton Hall and a lot of teams is one key guy. If Dixon doesn’t play well tomorrow Nova is beatable. Butler and Georgetown aren’t good and even though they might be better than us it’s not by a huge margin. I still think a lot of teams can finish 6 or 11th. A lot of parity at the bottom

yea i mean Pat Ewing is the only reason to give a sliver of hope. that team that won the BET stunk.

but these BET games essentially don't matter. the season is already over

It matters. Somebody bad is going to win 8 games in the big east. If it’s Sha people will be talking about an amazing job getting 8 big east wins out of this team.

right but what does it matter. half the team will be gone and we won't make any postseason. maybe avoiding first weekend increases chance of BET championship, but the chances won't be more that 5%

New season begins next year. This season is old and, unfortunately, over. A last place finish in the BE on the horizon. 😰
