Where do we go--
Wusu, Jenkins, Toumi --done, no eligibility left
Okorafor--show him the door
Dual, Tubek--not fitting in, most likely gone
Felton, Coleman--like to keep but probably gone
Mbaye--who knows what he can do if anything-- big ???
Which leaves us with Aligbe, Yeldon,Middleton,& Erherien and two walk ons
Not a lot to work with. We're in some deep shit trouble

Keep felton and isaiah def. Theres a spot for scottie. Hes been a 3 pt killer. Depends what godswill asks for but hes young and agile. Okorafor moves well but gets lost a ton. Another that can improve. Prince depends what he wants. If u can recruit over anyone u do it. Gus needs to lose major weight.
All comes down to what they cost.

They can all leave. None of them are irreplaceable.

There are a few nice pieces -- Coleman, Felton, Middleton, maybe Godswill and Aligbe. With a (good) bit of work Dual, Tubek and Yalden as well.

But there's nobody on this roster I would be heartbroken to see move on.

I agree with Coleman, Middleton, Godswill, Yalden, Aligbe, and Tubek. That's already a lot of end of bench types. Need a PG/SG/capable big. $$$

Dual needs to show a lot more considering what's rumored to be what he was paid. We have 13 more BE games and at least 1 at the BET. I hope we he shows something.

Realistically with money being an obstacle, we're not getting guys who can pass, dribble and shoot but are also extremely athletic. I've accepted that fact. This year we went after guys who are long and athletic who fit the defensive philosophy. It's failed miserable. I'm hoping if we have to give up on any of those qualities, I hope we choose to go after guys who might not be as athletic but can pass, dribble, and shoot. We get those type of guys and mold them into Sha's defense. I think it's safe to say non scoring athletic guys isn't the way to go.

Depends on price. We need to pay Coleman and one more star player. I would be willing to commit some money to Middleton and Dual because I think both have a ceiling (I think Dual has been playing hurt), but it really depends on price. We will be able to find cheap replacement level players in the portal.

How many want to stay? That's the question.
I think there are guys who may want to stay because it's their best option.

On the other hand, those are the players who will have the least opportunity to stay.

I remember seeing Dual at Providence and thinking he has that second gear Whitehead had. Really explosive and athletic. He totally does not move that way now which is why I think he’s not producing. Interesting you think he is injured as well. Any insight what body part? Foot, knee?

Eh, I watched Dual a decent amount last year (though obviously not as much as this year). Beyond pedigree and both being big, athletic guards -- top 50 type kids on paper out of prep (though IW was always and consistently ranked higher in this class) -- I don't see much comparison.

Dual was somewhat of a late bloomer, I believe, or at least got on the radar of rating services a bit later than most kids. Which is how I think Providence got on him.

He's playing for us the same way he played for Providence last year, it seems. Which, coupled with him being a kid that sometimes has "issues", is seemingly why Kim English didn't try to retain him.

I was "all in" on him and Middleton, so fair to say I've been disappointed by both, and more so with Dual. To think a kid with that pedigree even as recent as this summer would have "DNP's" or games he barely played on this particular Hall squad is mind-boggling.

Plenty of season left for him to change perception and perhaps achieve what me and others thought he would this year. If he does that, or shows some more signs, I would be favor of trying to keep him. Assuming no better options.

he legitimately cannot shoot from anywhere. no matter how close or far.

That's not accurate. He has improved his mid range jumper. 40% from the field

He still struggles from the arc but he is starting to take a couple from there and is hitting them. 22%. Not good but slightly better than early in the season.

It's from the foul line where he struggles. 55%

Interesting to speculate, but so much--- most--- of next year's prospects will depend, sadly, on transfers.
I want to think Godswill has an upside, but not sure. Still looks lost.

I don't know if we have anywhere near the sample to conclude his mid-range has improved, but candidly I didn't watch every minute of him playing at Providence. His stats are basically the same. Yes, the overall FG% is higher, but I don't know how the shots he got and is taking here compares to what he got and took last year at Providence. His 3% and FT% are down, but again I don't think we have enough sample or enough of a baseline comparison to conclude whether he's regressed there for the same reason. It's still a kid playing less than 20 minutes and averaging less than 4 points a game.

I had high expectations for him based on the pedigree and athlete. As I said, maybe we see growth when all is said and done this year.

But I have to think it's somewhat of a red flag and somewhat alarming that on this roster, with this group, he has had multiple games in conference where he has gotten less than 10 minutes.

He’s not close to BE level starter. He has long arms and has made some nice steals but he has also made some unforced turnovers. If hes available at 10% of what he’s getting this year ok, otherwise sayonara.

He’s averaging 3.6p/1.3r/2.2a against bad and mediocre competition..

I’d say he struggles at everything

The comment was he can't shoot from anywhere. No one is claiming he's playing well. That would be foolish. But as noted his mid range jumper has improved and in the last couple of games he has hit from the arc.

Need to evaluate the young guys about their "futures" with us based on a larger body of work through the end of the season. Our freshmen need more burn. is there upside being the determining factor about investing going forward? Felton is the only one in my mind. With the others it is the dreaded "P" word - potential. Need experienced ballers (especially bigs) to be competitive next year. I question what we have beyond Coleman and to a lesser extent Middleton. Dual is a good back-up. Alibge is a glue guy but replaceable. When you have a last place team that hasn't jelled, it's time to think about a new squad. I'm not a proponent of blowing things up but in this case it seems the prudent course. We are a last place team. Everything and everybody is for discussion. We are looking at one of the most important off-seasons we've ever faced. As Yogi said, you come to a fork in the road, you take it. Let's hope if is the right road when it comes to fielding a competitive team next year. We can't afford another "bad and boring" edition.
