No Reason to Overpay for Isaiah

Coleman being heavily rumored to be headed to Georgetown.

He's as good as gone. This program, objectively, is in the gutter right now. Why would he stay unless he is significantly overpaid? This team is void of talent and cohesion, and it's a big ask to expect him to risk his junior year suffering through this same situation again.

Seems a more likely outcome that we keep a few of the underclassman that show some promise and try to round out the team with a legitimate PG and some other legitimate starting players.

I guess we'll find out about this other stuff and how impactful it will be to attracting transfers. We've got a beautiful new facility, we've had a good track record of relevancy before this year, but how damaging has this been?

Let's be honest
He's a decent player on a really bad team
I'd rather have a good player on a good team under utilized who is looking for maximum PT.
Yeah but he’s the one player every other coach is doubling and telling his team to not let him go off.

He’s got a target on his back.

Just look at the year Kadary is having with all that talent around him. Same with Kalkbrenner and the outside shooting for Creighton.

it’s why Samuel was good with Florida: he didn’t have to worry as much about defense, had many more offensive possessions to have more scoring chances and had more talent around him so he was never double teamed. Plus Florida was a running team and he got out in transition for some easier buckets.

Coleman on a good team will be an efficient 17-18 ppg guy

He definitely might be more efficient surrounded by better players and certainly with another year of growth, experience and development. I think the situation will dictate how much he scores per game.

Good points but what about his D?
He frequently gets beat , loses his man and gets beat off the boards.
There is more to it than just his offense if your gonna overpay..

His defense has gotten worse and I think it’s an absolute sign of apathy and looking toward another program. It’s been really bad.

But I do think his D would be better if SHU were winning.

So I suppose it’s worth meeting his asking price if we can get 1-2 other offensive-first players. I guess it comes with that caveat.

So guys now decide how hard they are gonna play based on if team is winning?

Todays game is on national TV with a first class broadcast team. If they aren't gonna give their all who needs them anyway. All the NIL money in the world can't give you that kind of exposure...

Fanta conveniently said that the day after Trilly posted it.

I have no idea how reliable Trilly or Fanta's intel is, but Fanta has been preparing for and is in DC this weekend for Marquette-Georgetown tonight on Peacock. Probably a good shot that is where he learned about Zay if in fact GTown has already secured his services behind the scenes for next year.

The one thing I don't see mentioned is that the DMV is home for him.

And what is SHU’s biggest need? Offense, somebody who can score. He’s a sophomore averaging 15+ in the BE. we want/need him back. So we’ll see.
I'm just saying if your watching this game

Agree but you can't cost us more points then you give either.
If your watching this game Coleman has gotten beat on a back door, on an offensive put back and a bad Turnover

Don’t disagree about the D but man we need guys to put the ball in the basket also.

You pay for guards in college BB. If u dont pay isaiah u just got worse overnight. Pay for a 1,2,3 move godswill to the 4 and coach him up. Scotty is a backup 3 pt shooter. Felton still a young backup. Both of those 2 shouldnt get any significant $ yet. Dual must go. I dont wang him even aa a backup

He would be a good secondary scorer but you need to bring in a player who is a higher level bucket getter.

Agree but wouldn’t it be great to have Coleman plus this other great scorer that we can supposedly get in the portal. We need two/three guys who can score. It would be great if Coleman was one of those guys.

People say what is shu's biggest need...having a system of players that can do fundamentals at a high level...middleton and dual were coveted in the NIL transfer window? Dual thinks he has a better handle than what reality shows...Middleton was a top 100 kid out of HS?

Yes. In an ideal world you’d like to keep him in that role.

Lol ur broke and wana drive a bmw
Just sayin that would be the ideal role for him. I am also realistic that if the best they can do, moneywise etc, is bring back Coleman and build around him as the centerpiece they will not be any good next year.

No his source is continuously Trilly. All of his scoops are the day after Trilly mentions it.

I only want these guys back (in order):

Coleman
Erheriene
Aligbe
Dual
Felton
I’d go along with that. Can’t give up on Felton- on a real BE team he’d be 11-12 off the bench. He and Godswill played way more than anyone expected but it should help next year.
