Last week someone on the free board posted that Kyrie Irving donated $11k+ to Spencer Joyner so that he could continue to attend The Patrick School.

In November, Spencer was diagnosed with a rare disease affecting less than 200,000 people globally. The disease is called pseudotumor cerebri and is intracranial pressure causing migraine headaches and vision loss for no apparent reason.

Prophet Kates actually trains and mentors Spencer and is working on some things to raise funds for research and awareness surrounding the disease through a benefit or tournament or something of the sort. He had also mentioned he had an idea to have Spencer walk the team out for warmups during a home game.

“I have taken him to Seton Hall games and anytime I can get him in the gym to watch them practice I jump on it,” Prophet said. “He's a seventh grader and loves the game and he loves watching the team play. They've seen the kid play and shoot around, he's probably one of the better players in the area so I hope he continues to recover and get better.”

Prophet said the kid has a chance to be a division one player if the disease does not take that away from him.
