oh wow stanford too; indiana st and quinnipiac fill out the field

There's a MAAC team in it every year as the "host" conference... Another reason why Monmouth's win last night was big for the conference.

Seton Hall to participate in 2016 AdvoCare Invitational in Orlando
For immediate release – Nov. 27, 2015

CHARLOTTE – The Seton Hall men’s basketball team is headed to Disney World for Thanksgiving in 2016. ESPN Events, a division of ESPN, has announced that the Pirates are one of eight teams to participate in the 2016 AdvoCare Invitational Nov. 24-27 at HP Field House at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando. Joining The Hall in thefield are Florida, Gonzaga, Indiana State, Iowa State, Miami (Fla.), Quinnipiac and Stanford.

The Pirates annually participate in non-conference multi-team exempt tournaments, having appeared at the Paradise Jam (2010, 2014), Charleston Classic (2011, 2015), Hall of Fame Tip-Off (2012), and Coaches vs. Cancer Classic (2013) during head coach Kevin Willard’s tenure. The Pirates are 14-6 in these tournaments since Willard came aboard, including a Paradise Jam championship in 2014.

Additional information, including travel packages, can be found on the AdvoCare Invitational website. Information on a Pirate Blue trip package will be forthcoming some time in 2016.

I think all of these exempt tournaments have a conference "sponsor" in order to be exempt. The Legends Classic either did or still does have a tie in with the NEC (with the conference team hosting the so-called consolation pod). I think the Big East has a tie in with Charleston and Puerto Rico.

The MAAC must also have a bigger deal with Disney, because it plays several of its conference tournaments, like soccer, down there at that complex.

This is the perfect trip for our mickey mouse coach. He'll get to visit his friends huey, louie, and dewey at Disney.

I am sure the booster club will be run ning a trip.

I am lucky enough to have a place down there, would I be able to but only tix through the bc?

I have timeshare in Disney and have been down during this tournament a few times. The guy I contacted at their ticket office was pretty much begging me to attend. I was getting free tickets to each session. Now it may be different next year with Florida and Miami being in it.

Hallssoccer I have the same disney time share. Do you know who you had contacted?

Honestly I'm not sure if I have the guys name. I just contacted the event center at the ww of sports. Told him I was DVC. He pretty much contacted me constantly to give me tickets. The place was empty.

Also the venue this is at used to host Tampa bay training camp for football and the Braves spring training. I don't think they are located there anymore since they have built their own training facilities .

Also for dan and sal or whoever does the booster club, if you need help in booking rooms, park tickets for anyone who may want or anything else I am a licensed Disney vacation agent and can help with anything you guys need with booking or any other questions.

It does not look like the Booster Club will be running a trip next year as the tournament runs over Thanksgiving. We will be sending out a survey to our Club Members to see if we would get enough of a response. Many of the faithful have already said they would not go because it runs over Thanksgiving.

Plans are that we may run a trip to a Big East city next year (Butler, Creighton, Marquette or Xavier) depending on the schedule.

Well that option could be of interest for sure.
