OOC released

I’m sure there is a reason but for the life of me I don’t understand playing Missouri in Missouri as a “neutral” site.

Play a road game or a play true neutral game. It’s not like we recruit that market and need a presence there. We are signing up for a road game but don’t get the monetary benefit of a buy game nor do we get the metrics (net/Kenpom) of playing a road game.

It‘s about playing the odds…. A neutral win would be better than a road loss.

It‘s actually pretty good in my mind that SHU has the clout to get a major conference team to play off-campus.

This is a challenging OOC. Sha scheduling tough in year two. Other than Baylor, Sha went out and got these games, to his credit. Showing some confidence in his guys. We’ll see what happens but it took Pike about six years to finally put together a reasonable OOC.

Did you complain this much when we beat Kentucky on a neutral MSG floor?

I think you missed his point. And his argument is legitimate. Your condescending question should be asked from a Kentucky standpoint. How did that work out for them?
You missed the point. This happens all the time, sometimes in our favor, sometimes not. SHU didn’t win bc of where the game was… they win bc of Taurean Thompson making the right pass… 😉

MU @ Columbia = Walsh advantage
MU in KC = Pru Center maybe. KU is the team that dominates the KC metro area, not MU.

Pirates could face up to five NCAA Tournament teams from last season before the start of BIG EAST play
South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall men's basketball team will once again challenge itself with a strong, 11-game non-conference schedule featuring six games at Prudential Center, the program announced Thursday.

The Pirates will be prepared for the rigors of BIG EAST play as The Hall could face up to five teams that played in last year's NCAA Tournament and six opponents that finished in the top 60 in KenPom.

The 20-game BIG EAST Conference schedule, which will include 10 home dates in Newark, as well as final game times and television assignments will be announced at a later date.

Season tickets start at $215 per seat (plus a priority seat premium if applicable), and it represents the best possible value to watch the Pirates in 2023-24. Season ticket holders get the best seats at the best per-game price and receive access to exclusive events, access to purchase discounted parking and access to purchase postseason tournament tickets.

Fans who purchase season tickets between Aug. 1 and Sept. 4 will be entered into a raffle to win a Shaheen Holloway signed basketball. Fans interested in purchasing season tickets can place a deposit today or fill out an information request form. Fans interested in having a group outing at a Seton Hall game can also utilize the information request form, and a sales representative will follow up.

Student season tickets for active Seton Hall University students will go on sale Monday, Aug. 21, and students will receive an email to their student.shu.edu address on how to purchase.

The season will commence with back-to-back games against New Jersey opponents. On Monday, Nov. 6, the Pirates will tip off the 2023-24 campaign against Saint Peter's at Prudential Center. On Saturday, Nov. 11, the Pirates will host Fairleigh Dickinson inside historic Walsh Gymnasium where they last faced each other on November 11, 2017. Seton Hall is a combined 85-28 all-time against the two schools and is 14-2 against fellow Garden State programs since 2015-16.

After hosting Albany (Wednesday, Nov. 15) and Wagner (Saturday, Nov. 18) at Prudential Center, the Pirates will head West to play in the inaugural Rady Children's Invitational. The Hall will open the tournament with USC on Thanksgiving, Nov. 23, at 5:30 p.m. EST on FS1, and will face either Oklahoma or Iowa on Friday, Nov. 24. All games will played at LionTree Arena on the campus of UC San Diego. Ticket prices range from $35 to $125 per two-game session. For tickets, fans can visit www.RadyChildrensInvitational.com. $5 for each ticket sold will be donated to Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego.

The Pirates return to Prudential Center on Wednesday, Nov. 29 to take on Northeastern before heading back out on the road to take on Baylor on Tuesday, Dec. 5 in a BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle contest at the Ferrell Center in Waco, Texas. This will be Seton Hall's third road game in the four-season history of the BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle.

It won't get any easier for the Pirates as they return to New Jersey to face Rutgers in the Garden State Hardwood Classic later that week on Saturday, Dec. 9 at Prudential Center. Seton Hall, which leads the all-time series 42-31, has won its last two meetings against the Scarlet Knights including their last pairing in Newark on Dec. 12, 2021 when the Pirates reclaimed the Garden State Hardwood Classic trophy following a 77-63 victory.

The Pirates conclude the home portion of the non-conference schedule against in-state foe Monmouth on Tuesday, Dec. 12 before traveling to the Midwest for a neutral site contest in Kansas City, Mo. against Missouri on Sunday, Dec. 17. The Tigers went 25-10 last season and went 1-1 in the NCAA Tournament.

Seton Hall is led by head coach Shaheen Holloway, who last season recorded the most overall wins (17) and most BIG EAST wins (10) of any first-year Pirates head coach in program history. Seton Hall returns three of its top four scorers from 2022-23, Al-Amir Dawes (Newark, N.J.), Kadary Richmond (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Dre Davis (Indianapolis, Ind.), and has reloaded with four impact veteran transfers and two high-ceiling freshmen. The Pirates have advanced to national postseason in six of the last seven years, including the NCAA Tournament five times.

It would have worked out well had herro shot well that day
And had the Trailblazers drafted Jordan instead of Sam Bowie NBA history would have been a lot different.

However, as we know, hypotheticals count for nothing.

Pike still doesn't have one.
