OT-RIP Frank Howard

https://www.mlb.com/news/frank-howard-dies

Lost in the news cycle…RIP to another great MLB’er from the 60’s and 70’s.

My first MLB game: Senators and Yankees at the Stadium. Howard hit a HR that is still going. Great player on a bad team.
Believe he got one that rattled behind the monuments in center field and Bobby Murcer just couldn’t find the ball!

Also believe I saw him struck out on a “folly floater”

Pitchers name fully escapes me…Hamilton?

Dodgers in 63 baby. He hit a monster in that series. Might have been game 4.

Mentioned before one of the guys in my golf group is Fat Jack Fisher who pitched for Mets and Orioles. I asked him once what hitter he feared the most and he said it was Howard because he was imposing and the ball left his bat so fast.

It was game 3 Dick. But the ball eventually landed in game 4.
Actually it was Game 4. Drysdale shut out the Yanks in Game three and no homers were hit. Koufax won game 4, 2-1. The Mick hit a homer too. The Yanks scored 4 runs in the 4 games.

You missed the humor Dick. The comment should have been taken as a compliment to his power.

He hit the homer in game 3 but the ball didn't officially land until game 4.

I got the humor but thought your "correction" was probably right too, so I looked it up...

Well, as a Yankee fan I'll tell you this...I'm not looking up anything about that series. LOL
