Did it? I actually think Tony Bennett is one of the most respectable guys in the business, but in 2024 you have to wonder is there another Pat Hobbs situation over there or countless other reasons to step down that caused this resignation to happen at this time. I hope you are right for his sake and my own belief that he is a respectable guy, but you never know.Current awful environment clearly drove his decision with the small bonus of setting up his assistant and friend to take over. Classy and very smart guy obviously with a conscience. He will land on his feet.
Remember when Raf did the same thing for Hoddy Mahon. Didn’t work out for Hoddy who was a terrific man and coach but Raf launched his career and is still going strong.
Add Jay Wright to that list.this is basically an exercise of which coaches have been experienced living in the muck. wright, bennett, etc want nothing to do with it. Cal, pitino, etc thriving.
goes to show you who was respectable and who wasn't
yea, i mentioned him. i think he was way ahead of realizing this was going to be a mess and go out on top.Add Jay Wright to that list.

No reason to stay. The job now requires them to be a con-man or a salesman to teenagers. Coaching is 10% of the job.Good for Tony. College basketball is a disaster now that the players have all the power. Surprised more college coaches haven't done this.

These guys can retire at 50 or 55 with millions of dollars in the bank and live a stress free life and set up their kids.
Granted they’re leaving millions on the table. But money truly isn’t everything, especially when you already have a lot
Ron Sanchez left Charlotte after the 2022-23 season to go back to Virginia. He's been on Bennett's staff for more than a year.yikes, well it's indeed a scumbag move because i think they're also taking charlottes coach who is now the one holding the bag
