No, really.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!

Lyons is better than fine, he is terrific.
Absolutely agree with you TrueBlue1989! Both he and Dr. Esteban are exactly what Seton Hal need! They've both done a terrific job and I hope both are at Seton Hall for a very long time! It will be fun to see what both have in store for Seton Hall in the years to come!

Lyons will be gone moment he gets a football school offer.

Think Fresno or similar school.

At this stage in his career, why does Hobbs need to dive head first into that mess?

At least he made sure they fired the AD and the coach before he got there. I'm just wondering how long he's been talking to Rutgers. It certainly didn't happen this afternoon.

I am not happy to see Hobbs go. Especially to Rutgers. He is extremely powerful in the state of NJ and he is someone you want to have in your corner. He is a tireless worker, fundraiser, etc. This is not a good thing in my opinion.

If I had to guess he will be named permenant AD because if he returned to SHU, he will make nowhere near what he was making as the law school dean. The AD salary will be comparable to what he has been making as dean.

You are dead wrong. They do not pay anywhere near the 440K that Lyon's makes at Seton Hall. Please look at the USA today report on athletic director salaries so that you may understand how overpaid Lyons is. He was making more than Julie Herman over at Rutgers when she was fired.

Dean Hobbs was in Charleston traveling with Pirate Blue up until early Monday morning. Reports are he met with RU officials on Friday. Governor had his hand in this. Pat may very well be President of Rutgers next year.

I didn't see him in his usual spot at the game last night so if he in fact wasn't there (I don't know), in hindsight it makes sense.

It's kind of crazy that Herman was making a base salary almost identical to Lyons.

When you consider the size of the respective departments, it doesn't make sense.

Take a look at what Athletic Directors at MAAC schools make. Most of their salaries are in the low to mid 100 K range. Lyon's went from that to almost half a million a year. I will never understand this.

Barchi did use an interesting phrase, "a very strong referral" which is as nearly transparent a reference to Christie as you can get. Honestly, I think WPC is spot on with his prediction.

It is not Christie. This is Ray Lesniak. My guess anyway.

We will get good publicity because of this. As Carino just said, Hobbs was there 16 years and " Seton Hall Law School is very good.

Being associated with anything that has anything to do with RU is not good publicity! Raise your expectations, please!

C'mon. RU has 35000 students, is an excellent research University, has over 20 sports and plays in the Big 10.

They get far more press than we do and Hobbs hiring will result in a positive public halo effect for us.

That's all I'm saying.

If you think this is a positive for Seton Hall, you are mistaken.

I'll pray for you. Rutgers is generally an embarrassment and I would never want Seton Hall to drop to their level. Sorry, I have standards.

The Team and Pirate Blue returned to NJ Sunday night right after their game. 9pm takeoff.

So Hobbs as interm head of the RU Athletic Dept will be hiring a football coach then hiring an AD? Sound familar?
