Pirates Head to Queens to Face St. John's, Tuesday

THE GAME
Seton Hall will return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 31 when it makes the short trip to local BIG EAST rival St. John's in Queens, N.Y. Tip time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.

MEDIA
The game will be televised live on the MSG Sports Network and streamed live for FloHoops subscribers with John Fanta and Kim Adams on the call. As usual, the game will also be available over the airwaves at 89.5 FM WSOU and at wsou.net. Ryan Henry and Will Swankie will describe the action on the radio. Live stats will also be available.

WSOU is now also airing a post-game "Hall Line" show following its women's basketball games. Be sure to tune in after the final buzzer.

The contest will streamed on FloHoops, one of the leading streaming services in the world. LAST GAME
Four Pirates reached double-figures in scoring, including Mya Bembry (West Orange, N.J.), who matched a career-high with 14 points, but The Hall fell at Georgetown, 74-66, on Wednesday.

The Pirates fell down by as many as 17 points in the first quarter after a Hoyas' 18-2 run and cut their deficit to as few as four points, but couldn't find the equalizer. Georgetown shot 52.1% from the floor for the game, while The Hall was just 29.3%.

Senior Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) led The Hall with 20 points, but had a tough night with her shot. She also had five rebounds and five assists. Bembry had 14 points on 7-for-11 shooting to go with four rebounds. Kae Satterfield (New York, N.Y.) came off the bench for 13 points, six rebounds and five assists, while Sha'Lynn Hagans (Manassas, Va.) totaled 10 points and six rebounds.

EARLIER THIS YEAR AGAINST ST. JOHN'S
Junior Amari Wright (Jacksonville, Fla.) had a career-best performance and both Sidney Cooks (Kenosha, Wis.) and Park-Lane had double-doubles as the Pirates routed previously undefeated, No. 24 St. John's, 72-51, in Walsh Gym on Jan 4.

Seton Hall trailed for only 51 seconds and its defense held the Red Storm to just 34.5% shooting for the game, while forcing 21 turnovers. The Hall had a 32-to-6 advantage in points off turnovers.

Wright's performance was nothing short of perfect, scoring a career-high 17 points on 6-for-6 shooting from the field and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. She also collected a career-high seven steals. Cooks matched Wright's 17 points to go with a team-high 12 rebounds and three assists, while Park-Lane had 15 points, a game-high 11 assists and three steals.

SCOUTING ST. JOHN'S
This year, the Red Storm were picked to finish seventh in the 11-team BIG EAST according to the Preseason coaches' poll. Kadaja Bailey was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. St. John's lost First Team All-BIG EAST performer Leilani Correa, but returned four starters and brought in four transfers including point guard Mimi Reid and Georgetown's Jillian Archer.

So far, St. John's has exceeded all expectations and enters Tuesday's contest with an impressive 17-3 overall record and an 8-3 mark in BIG EAST play. The Red Storm was one of the last unbeaten teams, starting the year 13-0 before The Hall routed them on Jan. 4. Since, St. John's has gone 4-2 and enters Tuesday with a three-game win streak.

Most recently, the Red Storm edged Butler, 67-65, on Wednesday. Unique Drake had a team-high 16 points in the win. Jayla Everett enters Tuesday's game with a team-best 16.9 points per game, while Kadaja Bailey is a second averaging in double-figures in scoring with 13.8 ppg.

Seton Hall will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 4, when it hosts BIG EAST rival Providence in Walsh Gymnasium. Tip time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET.
