Player Rotations

Samuel has to play. He’s the only decent big. Richmond, Harris, Dawes (even tho bad shooting tn), & the Davis brothers have to play.

Dre davis has gotta be in there. Dawes shot looks awful but need his ball handling. Just so many unforced turnovers and mistakes, empty drives to the basket. Same old seton hall

I may be in the minority, but I’d be okay with less mins from Ndefo. He may a lockdown defender at the maac level, but I haven’t seen it in 3 games. 4 turnovers & 4 fouls tn while Murray had an easy 29 & 11.
Maybe he is adjusting too. But his impact has been minimal so far, feels like everything has been forced on the offensive end.

Fully agree.. he’s listed at 6’7 207…. he looks more like 6’5-195. Just not gonna cut it. He’s a 12 minute bench player. We’re desperately going to need Yetna to be a low post force or we’re going to be in serious trouble this year.

We came out on fire in both halves. Started the first half up 10-2 at the first media timeout. Started the second half 6-0 run then McCaffrey took a time out and both times after the timeouts Iowa controlled the game. Iowa outscored us 81-51 after the first timeout of each half. We punched them in the mouth, they took it, adjusted, and we really didn’t have any answers.

Counting on mr 3 from the moon to bring some post defense late in the year seems likely to disappoint. Teams with good bigs are going to eat us alive.

Sha is going to be GREAT. He wasn’t tonight. McCaffrey was. Learning experience for Sha tonight, although I won’t sleep tonight due to him keeping Samuel on the bench for so long.

The elite 8 run could have very much been a fluke. We will see. This is not the MAAC.

What happened to your podcast? Very disappointed I don't see new episodes this year. Kind of strange.
There was a decision made at the end of last season to not move forward, that was announced here.

I definitely miss doing it. But at this point we have moved on.

Wow I didn't see it announced here. But it definitely makes me question some events that took place. Thank you for this.

What events are those?
No idea what shufan is talking about in his cryptic non sensical sentences above but a few conspiracy theory dumbasses on trove said that Willard had the school pressure you to shut down bc you were not as rosy towards the Hall as other media members tend to be.
Super dumb bc you guys shut down after Sha was hired, haha.

Speaking of player rotations. Since the super grad injured Senegal player won’t bring his buddies from HS over, and with our all time block leader sitting on the sidelines with 1 year of eligibility wSamuel in foul trouble.

Why doesn’t Sha convince Ike to enroll at the Hall at half time and remove our Senegal connection, half-joking here

Lol. That is funny.

I’ll just say the following. We were treated kindly by Tony Bozella and the women’s program, we were given the opportunity to speak with Bryan Felt for a state of the Union annually, and we facilitated over 40+ full length interviews with ex-players, announcers, and other connected to the program.

However, we reached out on several occasions to be more engaged with the staff and players as the season was on going. At every attempt we made we were told that the program does not engage or allow its coaches / players to speak with an amateur podcast.

After our initial success. Many other podcasts began to pop up on the subject matter, and to our disappointment some of those podcasts were given the opportunity to engage with players / coaches. And some of those podcasts were prominently promoted here on the forum. Now it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why. We were objective and sometimes critical of the team and or Willard’s performance. And others conducted cream puff interviews that never asked Willard even a challenging question. It was also clear as day that these other podcasters didn’t even watch the games consistently.

I was never going to compromise what we do, just to interview the man or one of his active players.

Just to put it into perspective. Here is what went into the creation of a weekly LCP podcast. Making sure I watched both games (normally twice) - 6+ hours. Reviewing all the quotes, stats, trends, etc etc. 2+ hours, outlining an agenda that flowed for Tom and I to dialogue. 2+ hours. Record the show. 1-2 hours. Tom edits the content so it sounds professional . 1-2 hours.

That’s anywhere from 12-14 hours of committed weekly time for a passion project (“hobby”) to create an hour of hopefully quality content. Only to be treated like a nobody by the program we were covering, when everyone else was appreciative of what we were doing.

At a certain point, you have to look at where the podcast was heading. I could have continued to do it the way we were, but I get the frustration of not having further growth based on the ceiling the MBB program was placing on it, while supporting others in the same space.

Personally I have taken that energy spent on this project and reinvested it into my family by taking a larger role in coaching my son’s youth sports teams. And at this time I am content with the place that I am at with that decision.

Does it mean I don’t miss it. Absolutely not. Does it mean I wouldn’t do it again. Absolutely not. But I also need a partner that shares the same desire to move forward the way that it was. And we just weren’t in alignment.

So hopefully that can put all the conspiracy theories to bed.

Think Sha needs a little work in this area. Still early, but you gotta ride Samuel, Richmond, and Harris.
No question. He admitted as much - how can he lose track of Samuel and the time left in the game. Head scratcher. It’s like sitting Rhoden, Mamu or Powell with the game on the ropes. Samuel on had 3 fouls and played just 14 minutes. Absurd.

Harris was red hot and they sat him and ran nothing for him in crunch time. Too much hero ball. Disappointed that two of our better players sat after we cut it to 5 and did not return until the game was almost out of reach.

Also need to clean up silly, needless fouls way far from the basket where teams can’t hurt you.

Pick and roll defense was horrible. Should have switched to a match up zone or something to get Iowa off kilter.

I'm a fan of the young man, but he is not off to a good start ---some nice work defensively notwithstandding.

willard is an insecure beta. no idea why so many people here tried to brown nose him. hes simply an unlikeable human and a coward. nothing will ever change that, no amount of money.

got waxed in the tournament where it matters.

Samuel has to be our go-to player. He can do it. The game changed when he was in. You can’t lose track of him like that.

14 minutes with 3 fouls? He had 9 and 8 and was +11. Crazy.

and in the era of instant transfers, its more than losing the game.

They clearly announced it on their last (or next to last) podcast so you obviously missed that. I, too, was a fan of their podcast.

I'll say it again...you guys did a great job and you were even-handed. Most institutions (even our beloved Hall) prefer to live in LaLa Land where only the positive is ever spoken. It's insulting to the intelligence when honesty and fairness get the cold shoulder.
