PRESIDENTIAL PREDICTIONS ?

SRe: PRESIDENTIAL PREDICTIONS ?

some thoughts ......

My prediction of a solid win for Romney still holds. Let me say that if the main stream media was not so biased towards Obama then I believe it would be a landlside for Romney.

If you look at the results of the last four years (without adding spin) there is no logical reason to cast a vote for four more years of the same.If the American people think that the recovery is going along at a good enough pace.... which is probably half at which it should be..... then Obama will get re-elected. If the American people are happy with the prospects of rising taxes and lagging employment rqtes.... then Obama will get re-elected....... . the stimuli packages were supposed to solve a lot of problems,. ... they just added to them. Obama has made a mockery of the concept of bi-partisanship.

If the American people are satisfied with a Commander in Chief whose popularity among the troops is on the declline and who refuses to own up to the unfortuante debacle in Libya.... then they will re-elect Obama. What about the troops voting rights being thereatened... with lost ballots and uncounted absentee votes as was the case in past elections.

If the American people are happy with the disgusting types of ads and endorsements coming from his most ardent supporters .... then by all means they will re-elect Obama.. some recent examples: the two old ladies in the Michael Moore produced Moveon.org ad.... If Romney is elected "we will burn this m..... f...cker down".... or I will C&ck punch" Romney... or how about Bill Maher's latest comment" Be careful white people if Romney wins, the blacks will come to get you"... or words to that effect. Absolutely unprecedented vile and disgusting statements. There are others.

Some say Obama is smarter than Romney. Please show me the proof. The media keeps saying it and I guess people are prone to believe it if they hear it often enough. But I just don't see his "brilliance".

Some people say that the country will be the same regardless of who is elected. Never before has the difference in leadership style and political philosphy been so stark.

Some people say that Romney is not the best candidate. Please tell me the last time we have had a "perfect" candidate for the Presidency.

I think that the majority (+ 5 - 8%) of Ameruican voters will think that Romney offers us the best chance for an economic recovery and a strong global leadership role. I think that they will pull the lever for Romney. IMHO.

Great post jmm, but Obama is still the favorite due to the overwhelming media bias as well as Obama's ability to divide America into all of these so-called victim classes.

Yeah.. remember how that liberal media bias helped Kerry win the election.

There s a media bias in this election because until the first debate, Romney was running one of the worst campaigns in my lifetime and the media talked about it.

You think Romney doesn't divide America into victim classes?

"All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it -- that that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. ... These are people who pay no income tax. ... [M]y job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

Many people only see what they want to. to the left the mainstream media favors the right and to the right it favors the left because thats what they want to see. In reality they are pretty objective. If you prefer to listen to MSNBC or Fox News do not expect objectivity.

Tom, after all the posts I've seen from you lately that were well written and spot on, I'm surprised to see one that's so ignorant....lol. If you don't think the mainstream media (not the extremist edges) has a liberal bias, then you need a new prescription for those blue-shaded glasses.

Surely you jest Tom. If you can't see the bias that NBC, ABC and CBS has in favor of Obama... then I don't know what to say. The mainstream media never vetted Obama in 2008 and they are running interference for him now. I challenge you to show me an example of the mainstream media favoring Romney. I think you have fallen victim to the Koolaid being dispensed by Obama's news organizations.

I can see that Merge is getting nervous.

The media is slightly left. You will get no argument from me there.
The fact that there have been few examples of the media favoring Romney, again, is because Romney's campaign was horrible. He did well at the debates and you can see examples of the media favoring Romney there but other than that, it was just bad.

The reality is that people will get there news from where they want to get their news.
Obviously, I wouldn't turn to Fox to get my news.... The idea of people being influenced by the media is really becoming less and less accurate. The media is influenced by the people. That is what created the partisan outlets like Fox and MSNBC. There was a demand for it.

Re: SRe: PRESIDENTIAL PREDICTIONS ?

Please, this isn't just about the 2012 election. Fox is the only right leaning TV network. MSNBC, CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC all lean very left, unashamedly so.

Then there is the NY Times which shapes much of the media's focus.

Steve I think it's because your center of gravity is so far to the right that everyone else looks leftest to you.

No I think MSNBC and Fox are off to the extremes and the major netwoks are essentially centrist. They report the news if Romney looks silly by being on both sides of so many issues they report it just as they did with Kerry in 2004. There is a difference between opinion & reporting. MSNBC & Fox sell opinion not reporting.

Are you refering to those blue shades glasses that I was wearing when I projected the Pirates to win 31 games this season ???

Re: SRe: PRESIDENTIAL PREDICTIONS ?

The major networks aren't anything even remotely close to centrist.

If being far right means I adhere to the Constitution and only want the federal government to have its limited, enumerated powers, then guilty as charged. I don't shy away from that, I consistently embrace it.
