Pt. Plesant invokes ban on booze sales past midnight

Money isn't everything. The homeowners have a right to be upset when antisocial behavior is involved. I'm sure there has to be a compromise solution what will enable the businesses & home owners to co-exist.

I disagree to an extent. If I were a married couple I would not move to literally a shore community to raise a family. Secondly for the seasonal rentals going forward in 2013 and beyond the value of what they can rent act probably dropped. Three it is unfair to the seasonal bartender who has a night shift to now lose 2 hours worth of tips.

I don't condone drunken debauchery in public by any means but this is a tremedous stand for a shore community who relies on tourism in 16 weeks a year for most of its yearly revenue.

I personally have always liked hanging in PPB during summertime def over Seaside...now I may as well drive down to AC and drink for free on the casino floor and stay over the night

can't see how shore area seasonal towns would survive without nightlife until 2 am, I do realize sea girt is a 12 am curfew and ocean city is dry.

these shore towns need an influx of money for the 16 good weeks of the year because nothing much but property taxes get collected the rest of the way

I don't think a huge majority of folks go to Point Pleasant to drink between 12-2. While this is a jolt to bars and bartenders, it will not change the amount of folks that go to Pt Pleasant (maybe the under 25 crowd but that is it).

Agree or not, I think it is admirable that Pt. Pleasant is trying to address the problem. They are choosing to be more of a family community and bravo for them in recognizing what they want and attempting to accomplish it. Let's see what happens and if the approach works.
