So I coach a middle school team, and one of my former players tried out and made his freshman team (he is a great kid and really solid player). He reached out to me because he was really down when the coach told him he "barely made it, and don't expect to play much if at all".
It got my former student really down on himself. Not sure why a coach would say something like that to a kid who just made your team but anyway... my former student really looks up to Shavar so I reached out to him, and Shavar messaged him before his first practice today, and shared some great advice with him.
Needless to say he went out and dominated practice today, and told me because he was inspired by Shavar.
Just wanted to share a nice story.
