Junior Mya Bembry (West Orange, N.J.) drained a baseline jumper with 2.1 seconds remaining to give the Seton Hall women's basketball team a dramatic, come-from-behind 66-65 victory over Creighton in the BIG EAST Tournament quarterfinal on Saturday.
In a thrilling affair that featured 12 lead changes, the Pirates trailed by as many as seven points in the fourth quarter before mounting a late charge. Creighton's Tatum Rembao hit a three-pointer to give the Bluejays the lead with just 28 seconds left, but the Pirates took their time on their final possession and Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) found Bembry open on the baseline for the game-winning shot.
Senior Sidney Cooks (Kenosha, Wis.) had a monster game for The Hall, registering a game-high 20 points to go with eight rebounds, three blocks and two assists. Bembry notched a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

EARLIER THIS YEAR AGAINST VILLANOVA
Seton Hall and Villanova split their 2021-22 season series with each team winning at home.
Sidney Cooks and Lauren Park-Lane had double-doubles, but Villanova rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat the Pirates, 76-73, on New Year's Eve. The Pirates held a seven-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, but Villanova out-scored The Hall, 26-16, in the final 10 minutes.
The Pirates got their revenge, however, on Feb. 13. Park-Lane erupted for a career-high 33 points, including 15 in the fourth quarter, and the Pirates snapped Villanova's nine-game win streak with a convincing 72-60 victory.
Park-Lane was brilliant, going for a career-best 33 points on an efficient 11-for-15 shooting, which included 4-for-6 from three-point range and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. She scored 15 of the Pirates' 22 fourth quarter points. Park-Lane also pulled down six rebounds and dished out four assists.
SCOUTING VILLANOVA
This year, Villanova was predicted to finish fifth in the 11-team BIG EAST Conference, according to the Preseason Coaches' Poll, but the Wildcats, finished 15-4 in the BIG EAST and earned the No. 2 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament.
The dominant Maddy Siegrist was named BIG EAST Player of the Year after winning the scoring title. Head Coach Denise Dillon was named BIG EAST Coach of the Year and Lior Garzon earned Co-Most Improved Player honors.
Villanova has won 14 of their last 15 games with their lone loss coming to Seton Hall during that stretch. The Wildcats are coming off a convincing 76-52 victory over St. John's in the BIG EAST quarterfinals.
