You're right in that masks are "just" a sign of respect. I have to watch two year old children sweat in daycare with masks on out of "respect" for people that want to huddle around in fear and pretend that pieces of cloth you buy from overseas manufacturers actually do something beneficial.

Hello. People mocked me for predicting a covid epidemic in Fall 2021/winter 2022. However Dr Scott Gotlieb is now saying the same thing. Gotlieb is now saying the Delta variant will become the major variant in the fall and could cause another epidemic in the United States this fall.

70% of the population is vaccinated; there are ample vaccines and treatments that we didn't have a year ago. We also know how to avoid being hospitalized or dying from the disease. There may be an increase in cases, but no where near the numbers from last year....not even close.

Of those most at risk (over 65), over 70% have been fully vaccinated. Even over 50, 66% have had at least one dose. So yes, the people that need to be vaccinated, are.

I am going to assume you mean property taxes. Unfortunately, property taxes are not governed by the State but by your local towns and cities. 50% to 65% of your property taxes are based on your school system. The only way to lower property taxes to get get rid of home rule and end this ridiculousness of 535 municipalities with the duplication of services and schools.
No Governor or politician ever has put forth a proposal of getting rid of home rule. If that’s your one issue, then sad to say that you will be disappointed by both candidates.

The latest about the Delta variant. And its terrible news for the progress the United States has made. Experts are now predicting 3,000 covid deaths a week this fall/winter even with 75% of the population and a resurgence of covid in the fall/winter. I warned this board to not get excited about going back to the rock quite yet. Experts do agree mandatory mask wearing and capacity limits could be a comeback in a major way this winter.
