I thought I had heard the same thing as SHUSA said but I don’t really care anymore so didn’t review the issue
It’s very sadly just another thing you could die from ....like getting sick from vaping, or falling on a hover board, or getting hit by a stray bullet, or eating a bad pretzel at the rock

I am going to assume you mean property taxes. Unfortunately, property taxes are not governed by the State but by your local towns and cities. 50% to 65% of your property taxes are based on your school system. The only way to lower property taxes to get get rid of home rule and end this ridiculousness of 535 municipalities with the duplication of services and schools.

No Governor or politician ever has put forth a proposal of getting rid of home rule. If that’s your one issue, then sad to say that you will be disappointed by both candidates.

All very true, but income taxes, inheritance, gas, and relocation (!) tax are all absurd. Christie had some success with stabilizing property taxes, with caps on superintendent salaries and re-structuring the public worker healthcare benefits. But yes, no one has taken on home rule. Yet.
