Selfish Joe

Joe and Jill probably voted for Trump. Looking back I’m shocked Kamala got as many votes as she did. Time for her to put her finger down when she talks, really bugged me that she was trying to copy Barack. Dems need to start Fresh with new characters. I did see this coming only one who called Trump with over 300 electoral votes.

This is all after the fact blame game. They ran Kamala because she was on the ticket and the only candidate that could access Bidens warchest of campaign funds. They were all in on it. They went with the $. If they were so against it, why did they endorse her? Those are two powerful Dem voices. Hard for me to believe that after they talked Biden to step aside that they sat on their hands and let Biden make the call. It was about the $.

Plus I think they didn't want to look like they were overlooking someone who checked all the DEI boxes. I can't imagine ANYONE in the power group of dems who actually believed that Harris would make a good candidate or President. They had the hubris to think that they could cover for her the way they covered for Biden for 3+ years. They and their partners in legacy media failed miserably on both counts.... damaging the country in the process.

I can't disagree more with the third bullet at the top of the article, "Harris' future as the leader of the Democrats is unclear". It's pretty frickin' clear to me - no future as a leader of the Democrats at all. However, go for it if Dems really want to drag that conversation out versus finding some credible path forward.

Given the timing of when he dropped (was forced) out, the democrats were really left with no choice but to nominate Harris. There was a fair amount of pushback because she skipped the democratic process. It would have been far worse if they just picked someone else.

I’m glad they stuck with Harris in that sense. I wouldn’t be shocked if Obama and Pelosi didn’t want her, but I’d be shocked if they thought there was a path to install someone else.

The reality is that she was just a REALLY bad candidate. Obama and Pelosi likely knew that, but it was too late.

They may not have come up with a better candidate or one that would’ve beaten Trump, but not only did they ride a horrible candidate, but they damage the credibility of the party by not following any kind of nomination process with delegates. I’m sure Obama and Pelosi were already pissed at Biden for putting the party in that position.

And let’s face it, Biden was too selfish and should’ve never run for the second term. And then he stays in too long to prevent any potential candidate from getting the time and momentum.

Frankly both parties took/are taking a huge risks running older candidates out there. Trump is no spring chicken. He seems to have all his marbles (although some may have been missing from the start), but health issues happen unfortunately at advanced ages. Biden was failing for some time and the Dem leadership did nothing to stop it until it was too late. Lots of finger pointing going on and lots of bad decisions were made. Kamala never even won one delegate the last time she ran - that was telling. They chose the warchest over doing the right thing. Before that, they chose Biden and before that Hillary and had to pay millions in back door money to Bernie to bow out both times. The democratic process has not been followed in 3 elections by the Dems, why would they follow it this time around?
