Here's how I see it shaking out on Tuesday in the close races:

AZ: Kelly (D)
GA: Walker (R) (Very close)
NH: Hassan (D)
NV: Laxalt (R)
PA: Oz (R) (Very close)
WI: Johnson (R)

Senate ends up being 52R, 48D.

Laxalt is (R)…typo?

GA will go to December run off but I think Warnock.

Others I agree….51-49.

If Republicans take House and Senate, they would be in a position to close ranks and tell Trump to STFU and turn their backs on him and all actively campaign against him in the primary. They don’t have the stones to do that, but all it takes are a few leaders in the party to step up in unison. At the end of the day his base will support DeSantis.

I think I'd have it the same depending on turnout. The higher the turnout, I think Georgia and PA go blue but otherwise I think the celebs win.

I see it this way:

AZ: Kelly
GA: Warnock
NH: Hassan
NV: Laxalt
PA: Fetterman
WI: Johnson

Senate remains 50-50.

A few governors races will be interesting. I think Lake (R) wins in Arizona, Lombardo (R) wins in Nevada, Kotek (D) takes Oregon and Michels (R) takes Wisconsin. I'm hoping that Zeldin can win in NY, but I can't see it. I think he peaked a week early and just won't get enough support to offset the huge advantage Hochul will have in the city.

In local NJ races, Gottheimer, Kim and Sherrill hold their seats while Malinowski gets beat by Kean Jr.

fetterman is polling slightly under oz now, but the oz folks bark the loudest and i personally believe fetterman has the larger contingent if normal % of people turn out.

In a/the GA runoff, I think the current libertarian vote will break more for Walker.

Fetterman such an orator he will be tough to beat Because there are a lot of dumb voters in Philly.

i think a lot of voters want someone who aligns witrh pennsylvania. oz isnt a good candidate. they voted the wrong guy in.

other voters, like myself, hope fetterman will step down and someone like conner lamb (got my vote) gets put in.

Most mid term elections go against the sitting president but if Walker gets in Wow what a disgrace .

He might step down but that would be disingenuous and a moderate replacement like Lamb isn't happening. It will be a liberal firebrand.

he also might not have a choice.

not sure i agree it would be some liberal firebrand.

Exactly…and let’s reward someone who withheld information about their ability to serve with our vote…

Oz is a terrible candidate as well. But a bait and switch by the dems after all their incessant whining about the death of democracy, LOL?

well having a stroke right before primaries wasnt exactly planned.

I don't choose the person I vote for based on whether I like them or not.

I choose it on where they stand on issues that are important to me.

Border Security
Energy
Crime
Economy
Inflation
Education
Spending and Budget
Foreign Policy

I'm more confident that Bolduc will win NH then I am about Walker or Oz. Should shake out 52-48. Total democratic meltdown if R's get to 54.

How so? Please elaborate.

Both are disgraceful human beings but each side suddenly gets partisan blinders on here.

I mean he spoke out against absentee fathers forgetting to mention that he has fathered multiple kids he never sees. He's lied about encouraging and paying for women to have abortions and he honestly just doesn't know anything about any political issue. One of if not the worst candidate for senate I have ever seen in my life honesty.

We've covered Warnock here before and I think you oversold it at the time.

Haven't seen anything since to change my view unless you have something new?

Also never graduated college and said he did , carries a Barney Fife badge saying he worked in law enforcement. Are you kidding me . Some of these candidates on both sides are a joke . He may top the list .

people get on fetterman for the stroke, what about herschels CTE?
I don't care about the stroke. The fact that he had it before the primary and hid the severity is the issue. He has also refused to make his medical records available. Selfish and he may have screwed his own party out of control of the Senate. His wife and handlers should also be ashamed for putting him out there to embarrass himself. But that's the state of politics...screw your own husband.

speaking of strokes

in hindsight i dont disagree, but theres not a playbook on the matter. maybe he/they thought he would be recovered by time he takes office.
It's called common sense and thinking of what's best for the individual and party. I don't need a playbook for that.

again, he had a stroke. bit tough to navigate in the moment. there are people on this board who have a stroke i wonder what their opinion would be

He made a series of decisions over several months that may cost his party controls the senate:
- Withheld that he even had the stroke for several days
- Decided to not withdraw from the primary
- Refuses to make his medical history available
- Then decided to participate in the debate
- Didn’t use the two studio rehearsals to prep for the debate

This wasn’t one bad decision. And that happened over several months. He’s lost a double digit lead in the process.

I would have the same opinion if it was Republican candidate that all song put his party in the same thank you very much situation.

i assume he was in the hospital recovering from the stroke "for several days." use your critical thinking skills here. im sure his first thought isnt to alert the media.

- Decided to not withdraw from the primary
and if he was told he would recover for his term, why would he withdraw?

- Refuses to make his medical history available
bad optics but shouldnt you be all about Hipaa? should he show whether or not hes vaccinated too? righttt. people didnt have to vote for him in primaries after knowing about the stroke.

- Then decided to participate in the debate
bad call. clearly. was brave by him but thats no consolation. if he turned down the debate hed get shit for it from the rep side.

but, ultimately this is another case of dems pushing a losing candidate, and repubs being too dumb to unanimously mop up .

im still not going oz. cant think of anyone who has less of a true stance on anything, so who cares what he says. hes a grifter from nj.

btw, isnt oz getting a lot of trump fanbase if not all. when will they run a commercial about being muslim, put their brains in a pretzel. i think its why he only goes by "dr oz" in his PR and dems call him "mehmet". wonder how many people see mehmet and pass on the ballot lol

If he was a D Trump would call him a Voodoo Doctor !!!!

You don’t have critical thinking skills if that’s your answer. He’s not doing this alone. He’s got a wife, family and handlers that all knew the situation.
and if he was told he would recover for his term, why would he withdraw?
Because he would have to go into hiding while Oz kept campaigning. His lead started slipping after the stroke and he stopped campaigning. That’s pretty obvious.
bad optics but shouldnt you be all about Hipaa? should he show whether or not hes vaccinated too? righttt. people didnt have to vote for him in primaries after knowing about the stroke.
You obviously also know nothing about HIPAA either. If you volunteer health records (which Oz did), you are opting to do so…others can’t supply your health records. I can’t believe you don’t know that.

The rest is all ranting nonsense which has nothing to do with the string of bad decisions. Oz is a terrible candidate that Lamb would have beaten Oz by double digits. Poor decision-making has brought him back into the race and becoming more likely he will win the seat.

I think Fetterman should have dropped out. He had his stroke just day before the primary. He could have thought that he would recover well enough to continue. I don't blame him there for not dropping out.

I do have a problem with not releasing his medical records and knowing that after a couple of months that you are having serious issues, then that is the point where he had to step down. He could have stepped down in August and there would have been no issue putting Lamb on the ballot. This is where the problem is. Yes, he had a few good commericals but that doesn't mean you can do the job.

On the other hand, If Oz does lose, that really shows you how bad of a candidate he is. In the mid term election which will go against the president's party, he lost not only a Republican seat, he lost it to a guy suffering through the aftermath of a stroke.

Fetterman may still win which tells you a lot about the climate in the country. More people are voting party and not individual. Pretty pathetic candidates in PA. And GA. American public is being brain washed on both sides of the aisle. This is the best we can do? Let’s pick the worse candidates and run with them. The system is broken. This is what happens when politicians get too much money. It’s like watching the Super Bowl with the same 2 teams every year. The individual players don’t matter any more.

I don’t know the law and if that would have been possible or not in PA, but certainly appears now it would have been the right call. I don’t mind him going for it but clearly there should have been an assessment made at some point realizing they can’t go forward

Having this discussion with a bunch of friends last week. Would anyone encourage your child to enter politics in this climate, knowing that they, their family and friends will get a public proctology exam? So start right there...we will not get the best and brightest to enter public service unless we change things.

I am really disappointed that there seems to be very little interest in the electorate to make the fundamental changes that are needed to stop the spiral.....open primaries, multiple parties, term limits, campaign financing reform, voting standards.

We know what the problem is, but very few want to talk about solutions much less act on them.

Entering politics has become a fast way to get national recognition and celebrity status. From there, other financial opportunities emerge.

The fact that in a lot of races we are still counting votes after midnight, sometimes days weeks after the election has to make the average American question what’s going on. We have large chunks of the population voting a month before the election. It is 2022 we have large screen color tv’s, cell phones that we can do just about anything but we cannot count votes in real time? Maybe we should get Musk or Bezos involved? We spend trillions of dollars but cannot count votes. Not good for anyone either side. They all know it’s wrong but don’t correct the problem. Whether you are a D or an R this should bother you.

The balance of power in the Senate comes down to PA and GA and there are 4 horrible candidates running. The blindly partisan will defend their candidate as slightly less horrific. Terrible.
