Senate Prediction Time

Entering politics has become a fast way to get national recognition and celebrity status. From there, other financial opportunities emerge.
It’s like winning the lottery, look at AOC. Who cares what happens you already won. If you keep your mouth shut and vote party line you can keep shopping.

The fact that in a lot of races we are still counting votes after midnight, sometimes days weeks after the election has to make the average American question what’s going on. We have large chunks of the population voting a month before the election. It is 2022 we have large screen color tv’s, cell phones that we can do just about anything but we cannot count votes in real time? Maybe we should get Musk or Bezos involved? We spend trillions of dollars but cannot count votes. Not good for anyone either side. They all know it’s wrong but don’t correct the problem. Whether you are a D or an R this should bother you.
I have been spending a lot of time in Sweden and interacting with folks there the past three years. They just had their national election earlier this year. Four year cycle for all seats. Everyone has a national voter ID card, they vote at polls and winners are announced that night or next day. Granted they are about 10 million people but no one questions results.

Waiting a week for results make people question the accuracy.

Fetterman is a joke ,but he will vote 100% the way Schumer tells him anyway so not much different if he wasn’t mentally challenged. He wins and you have only senator that is more confused than Biden.

Keep going with the comparison.
All voters get a ballot in the mail and they are all able to vote early for any reason up to 18 days in advance. Election day is held on a Sunday to encourage high participation.

Preliminary results are posted 4 days after election day and final results are 6 days after election day.

Sign me up for that!

Because they were undated or misdated.

Clearly the intent of the law is to ensure that only votes which were cast within the legal window are counted, and these votes would meet that intent. You're on board with disenfranchising people for an oversight? Really?

It could be an oversight or it couldn’t. There are simple rules to follow. The courts obviously felt a line needed to be drawn…no different than any other requirement. Why wouldn’t Fetterman abide by that ruling?

Because they think it was decided incorrectly and that is the next step.

Bluntly he's right. If these were received after the election I'd agree with you but I can't see a justifiable argument why you would not want to count these ballots if they were received on or before election day.

The only reason would be that you think they didn't vote for the person you want to win.

Who gives a shit what the date on an envelope is when they have the ballot before election day? It's an arbitrary rule only meant to disqualify votes.

The rules for counting only correctly dated ballots were in place when mail in voting was initiated.

More reason why mail-in voting should not be allowed in 2022. Everything else is electronic - why isn't voting?

You constantly attack yet struggle to put together a coherent sentence. Pot meet kettle.

Does nothing to change the intent or integrity of the actual vote itself.

The reason for the date it to show when the ballot was cast and that it was within the window which was allowed. The fact that they have them now proves that, and many would even have a post mark. Just an arbitrary rule which disenfranchises voters because of an innocent oversight or error.

Silly argument since the ballots could be for either candidate right. Mail in ballots should require a post mark of one week prior to the election, so the votes can be counted on the day of the election. Seems like the post mark and not the date on the ballot should be the key factor which is what you are saying. These things should be common sense.

Voting on Election Day in person for 99% of the votes was obviously the best way to insure election integrity.Obviously this eliminates vote harvesting ,voting suppression silly arguments etc.So if you want to harvest votes you want voting as wide open as possible.Look at all the voters who voted for Biden only and no other races in paper ballots do you really believe they were not harvested ?

They have them now and don't want to count them.

I don't care who they are voting for. Their votes should count

What if the ballot is dropped off at a ballot box?
As I said earlier. Rules are made and should be followed. When you start bending the line you open the opportunity for errors. Amazing Fetterman and his team decided this was unfair the day before the election.

Again... focus on the intent of the law and integrity of the vote. They have the votes and they were received in time. What opportunity for error are you referring to? There just isn't one.

It would be just as arbitrary as invalidating a vote for anyone who shows up to vote and signs the voter slip with a blue pen when a black one was required.

There are rules that were established. Go through the legislative process if you want to change them. Filing a suit on the eve of the election? Come on man!

Kniespolice maybe once have the balls to disagree with my post and say why rather than say it is incoherent .Maybe you don’t have a high enough IQ to understand my postI will try to make them simpler so maybe if I can get them to 8th grade level you might understand.

You can't file a lawsuit before there is a case.
Had they just counted the votes, there would be no case. Hence the reason why it was now.

Also, you left out the fact that this was challenged in court last year and the lower court found no reason not to count the votes. Of course you won’t ask why the GOP didn’t abide by the ruling of the lower court when they challenged these ballots to the PA Supreme Court weeks ago though… you only do that when a democrat disagrees with a court decision.

I think Fetterman is going to win this race. Biden isn't as unpopular in PA as in other places and Shapiro is a popular candidate for governor. I think those two factors mean extra votes for Fetterman that might not otherwise had been there if he was running alone at the top of the ballot. That can make the difference in a close race.

i tend to agree here. i also think mastriano will have such a wave against him youll see people just run dem on the whole ballot

The balance of power in the Senate comes down to PA and GA and there are 4 horrible candidates running. The blindly partisan will defend their candidate as slightly less horrific. Terrible.

Awful jobs by GA republicans in letting Walker take the nomination without a background check. All they needed was any decent human to run and they could have won outright. I hated that I was forced to vote for Walker to try and save the Senate balance. If it wasn't for the balance of power, I would have been voting Libertarian.

I know it is Nov. 12, but many way-off predictions. I'm surprised how Laxalt petered-out in NV. Now that the Senate is in Democratic hands, I see a clear Warnock win in GA. Moderates, indies, and those who value the English language have no reason to vote for Walker.

well having a stroke right before primaries wasnt exactly planned.
Fetterman had the best line of all the campaigns this year, when Oz talked about the crudite, Fetterman said in PA we call that a veggie platter.

That video from Oz was just a disaster. Probably what cost him the election.
Let me connect with the people of Pennsylvania by making a some Crudité at "Wegners" with asparagus and Salsa?

I think the amount of early voting before Fetterman disastrous debate played a huge role in election.

Update: One month in to a six year term and things are not going well for Sen. Fetterman. But hey, the citizens of PA elected this guy. This is who they wanted! Hopefully he resigns and is replaced.

It's a joke, but people get what they deserve. Staff quick to point out it's not another stroke, but not saying anything else.

1) It's very sad for him personally.

2) When you run a joke of a candidate in Dr. Oz, another joke of a candidate ends up getting elected. You reap what you sow.............
