Addae-Wusu has done his best. He plays hard, he's just not a go-to player to carry a team. He was being asked to play larger role than what he is as a player because of our ineptitude in assembling a roster. And my God, we wanted him to be the starting PG as well. Wheeeeeeeeee
The other two, I mean, Jenkins has played 490 minutes as Pirate. Toumi 437. We hardly knew ye.

And when he didn't play those few games we were downright putrid.
Senior Night should be renamed See Ya Nite since most players will be long gone before they’re Seniors thanks to Nil. Senior Night historically was to honor 4 year athletes in your program. Afraid those days are now over.
On the topic of replenishing the roster, I noticed some interesting behavior during our game with Johns yesterday-after being taken out of the game, Simeon Wilcher reacted negatively to the benching.
Usually the player walks down the bench and Fist Bumps his teammates. Not this time, obviously ignoring the standard.
Last yr, I saw the same deal with Armstrong, the Villa Frosh from Peters Prep; he left the program after the season ended.
Simeon Wilcher is just what we need at Seton Hall. Good scorer, pretty good from 3, fiery competitor, he would give us something we desperately need-outside shooting, local guy, plays hard. Ricky can't pay everybody, Wilcher, along with JADEN Glover, would be 2 big additions to Seton Hall's rotations
Here's hoping that, with the infusion of some much-needed assets to offer during portal time we can cash in!

Agreed- something going on behind the scenes there. Witcher’s father is a nut job but We’re not winning big east games with Wilcher and Glover being our top portal additions
Wilcher needs to grow up. Very immature. Constantly looking into stands for father’s approval. That said Only way he is not back at St.John’s is if Pitino doesn’t want him back.

Ayo doesn’t have the talent of Wilcher but he is the ultimate team player and practices like everyday is his last day in Div. 1 ball and Pitino has rewarded him for that. Ayo’s game also has improve drastically since his freshman year at Iona.

I think we can probably scrap senior day at this point. It has basically zero relevance to 2025 college basketball.
So you’re saying a guy showing questionable demeanor (and also had that incident at the end of the Butler game) is someone who’d be a good SHU addition?
Interesting which I didn’t know or didn’t recall is that USC kid has had a rough go of it in the past with injuries and a major cardiac event during one season. I don’t know if he doesn’t get more time b/c he doesn’t play hard, the cardiac issue or because it is taking him longer to get what Pitino wants him to do. Then again it’s kind of hard to get run when Zuby plays at 1000% effort like all those kids do.
If you remember Kid blocked like 4 of our shots in one sequence last year when he played for usc.
I used to think that about playing time but not today.
Coleman for example can name his minutes and stats next year if he stays but if you believe most people he will end up as role player next year for someone else...
I didn't remember it either. All I remember from that game is the USC guards and another big kid blocking a million shots. I don't ever recall the SJU kid even playing.

Guys like tha 7’1 guy, Yeldon & Manny need to play to develop. They are doing themselves a disservice by playing at a higher level at this stage of their careers. Best thing to happen to Zuby was Soriano landing in Pitino’s dog house last year. Those minutes along with his relentless motor really helped in his development.
Zuby is their most indispensable player, IMO. He is a monster. His athletic ability to defend space and multiple positions plus that energy level with hitting the glass unlocks what they can do defensively at all levels.
The players and the NCAA don’t care. They just keep cashing the checks.
If they ever get matched up against a team who excels at ball movement to counteract the switching and high 3PA:FGA (like a Creighton) it could be trouble.
That’s the team profile that can get them.
On the other hand, women who make more money staying in college rather than playing in the WNBA, sometimes have two senior days.

Pitino didn't have a choice with him from everything I read. He wasn't going to be allowed to stay.
They tried to recruit over him too, first by tampering with Cliff and then going for Norchad. He’s a beast.
I think they wanted to have scenarios where they could play two true bigs at one time, because both him and Norchad can play the 4/5 role on the court together. Pitino's teams at Louisville usually had more traditional Centers and PFs.
Pitino told a story the other day where he called Bill Self before he took Zuby. Self said he was a great kid, always smiling, but way behind in the "basketball player" department, and so Kansas was content letting him go. Pitino worked him out and said he figured he could develop that.
Where does he go after not exactly lighting it up on our very bad team? Back to mid majors.?
Silly, silly question: Are Jenkins and Toure actually graduating from Seton Hall? I asked this earlier: can a kid come to the Hall for one year after being at other schools for 3 or four and graduate after just two semesters?
The graduating senior who ran out of eligibility? Yeah, I think Sha is done with him.
Guess we still hold on to this whole student athlete thing…
Do graduate students who transfer actually finish their graduate degrees? Probably not. And to your point, these kids that transfer a few times likely do not complete a degree in those 4 years.
Sit out year used to help with that.

I think it’s simply that Ejiofor needed some PT and Kansas wanted Dickinson. Ejiofor didn’t want to come off the bench.
Ejiofor was a kid I’d been keeping tabs on from his Texas high school days. He was gonna be good no matter where he went.
No. The story was he called Self to ask about the kid. Self raved about the personality but said he was very raw which is why he couldn’t get on the floor there. I guess Self was set with his front court starters (Hunter and KJ) and whatever depth he had in the fold. Pitino worked him out, loved him and thought he could be developed. Obviously it took a while because he was basically a depth big last year that played 10 minutes a game.
Btw, I don't agree that a kid with Zuby's profile is going to be good wherever he lands. I wasn't keeping tabs on him, like apparently you were, but plenty of kids ranked that highly based on potential rather than skill do not pan out. Regardless of the coach. Look at kids ranked towards the back half of the top 50, and you see that annually. Do I think he would have probably developed well at Kansas under another great established Hall of Fame coach like Bill Self? Sure -- no reason not to think that with Self's resume. When you have a demonstrable track record you get the benefit of the doubt even though all these guys miss on kids and not every kid works out for every coach. Even Coach K and Jim Calhoun missed on some kids or had kids that didn't work out.
If Zuby were such a sure thing, I don't think SJU would have been ranked 5th preseason by the coaches. I think he's been their biggest surprise.
But I get that I said the "P" word, coupled with the baseless, shocking, unfounded, unsupported idea that the "P" word might be good at developing basketball players. There is zero foundation for that viewpoint, so I get it.
But that’s my point is that it didn’t take that long. He’s a junior and it was either put up numbers or you don’t play.
Again—if you look at his efficiency numbers they’re very similar to his sophomore year. All he needed was playing time as I stated before.
He was a talent before he got to college and he’s a talent now. It isn’t like Bill Self is going to take on a project at Kansas. That’s ridiculous to think.
