Senior night

But that’s my point is that it didn’t take that long. He’s a junior and it was either put up numbers or you don’t play.

Again—if you look at his efficiency numbers they’re very similar to his sophomore year. All he needed was playing time as I stated before.

He was a talent before he got to college and he’s a talent now. It isn’t like Bill Self is going to take on a project at Kansas. That’s ridiculous to think.
I don't think anyone before the season thought Zuby would play as well as he has for them. But I guess you knew. I don't think they would have been picked 5th if other coaches thought Zuby would play as well as he has to date.

I guess I’m as anti-Pitino as much as you are pro-Pitino. 😂

I’ll certainly concede that he has his team playing exactly as he would want them. But it’s a talented team for sure.

Let’s put it this way: if Ejiofor had committed to SHU after his freshman year at Kansas, he would probably have been our second or third best player behind Kadary with Davis probably ahead of him.

We would have been doing cartwheels if he committed to us. That’s how good I think he was back then

No, I'm not saying you are anti-Pitino. You were clearly ahead of the Zuby curve before most others. I don't think acknowledging reality when it comes to Pitino the basketball coach makes one pro-Pitino. It might make one pro-common sense, or pro-reality, but doesn't make you pro-Pitino. But I get its more difficult to engage in an objective conversation about him, compared to say Sean Miller, McDermott, Shaka, Cooley (now that he's not winning at Gtown), Hurley (after he's got the 2 titles), or any other coach in the Big East. Which is a shame, because one of the best aspects of our boards has always been the the ability to engage in objective discussions about other BE players and coaches who get brought up in threads or posts, and Pitino gets brought up more than the others, probably more than most of them combined especially once Hurley got the 2 titles.

I don’t bring him up—I only respond when he gets lauded.

I actually didn’t really care about his situation until he ran his mouth blasting his team last year and then got credit for doing it.

Sha did it last year and got criticized. Pitino is called a genius (even though 4 of his 5 ensuing wins were against bottom feeders in the league).

It wasn’t even the Kadary thing—that just added on.

For the record, I think McDermott is a good offensive coach, but acts as bad as Danny does on the sidelines without the 2 ships.

Shaka I like.

Miller is a punk

Pitino gets called a genius because of his career accomplishments. No other reason. Some stat the other day referenced how he has won conference titles now with like 5 or 6 different schools, of all types, from mid-majors, to blue bloods or rebuilding blue bloods, to schools in between. I think Providence is the only one he didn't, and all he did was take them unexpectedly to a final 4. So, of course, he is going to treated differently than Sha and most other coaches.

Sure he gets credit for things that perhaps others wouldn't, but that's because of the resume, no other reason. That's true with anything. When someone has a track record like that, they get more benefit of the doubt.
