Some good news. SHU leads 2-0 in the bottom of the 1st.

Game available on BigEast Digital via FoxSports Go

The Hall leads 2-1 in the top of the 3rd, Good game so far with a lot more energy.

SHU still leads 2-1 in the bottom of the 4th.

Dana pitching well so far in Omaha.

Dana out of trouble again in the 6th. The Pirates
lead 2-1 going to the top of the 7th.

How many times have we sang this tune? Some teams just can't handle pressure.

3 runs in 2 games, now 2.4 runs per game in 10 conference tournament games. Can't expect to compete with that offensive ineptitude.

Too much pressure on the pitching and the defense.

Whomever is responsible for recruiting some bats better get his butt in gear.

Ranked 20th in the country=SJU.

Never going to happen but would rather see LAX than baseball at SHU.

To the extent that athletics exists to attract students SHU needs LAX. Would be nice if we could have both like SJU. It seems we can't.

I know the whole title whatever number it is, but why a school like SJU which is comparable to us has something we cannot? lax is cheap

To offer cross country but no indoor and outdoor track is pointless. It's there perhaps merely to fulfill a minimum requirement?

St. John's, for example, offers both but only for women.

The Big East sponsors men's and women's lacrosse. Most teams are not full members of the conference.

The women's teams are Butler, Villanova, Marquette and Georgetown... and from the outside you have Florida, Denver, Temple, UConn, Vanderbilt and Cincinnati.

That geographic expanse might tell you it's not easy to put together a college lacrosse league.

The men have six teams- St. John's, Georgetown, Marquette, Providence, Villanova and Denver.

I love track and field. But perhaps it's time for the coup de grace.

In other big east baseball tournament news, John Fanta has done a remarkable job as the sideline reporter.

I too love track and field and Coach Moon is a legend but it's a sport at SH that no one goes to see. Maybe it is time to bring in a sport like lacrosse and eliminate cross country .

From there, it was a pitchers' duel from innings two through seven with both starters pitching in and out of trouble.

Turning Point:
Seton Hall reliever Anthony Pacillo (Lyndhurst, N.J.) allowed a leadoff triple to deep center field in the bottom of the eighth. St. John's Josh Shaw followed with a double to tie the game. A sacrifice bunt, followed by a sacrifice fly drove in what proved to be the winning run.
