SHU leads 12-4 under 4 minutes 1st quarter.

DePaul 0-7 from 3

Hall girls look really focused. Tony B all kinds of fired up.

Hall leads 33-16 under 5 minutes in 2nd quarter. Next few minutes are key.

Anyway this 2nd unit has to hold the nice lead they've built up. Hall controlling the
pace.

1 level arena packed with about 3 or 4000.

Depaul is on a 10-0 run... 33-23 according to Gametracker.

Make that 15-0... 33-28.

We could have been crushing them at half and now here we are in a dogfight.

DePaul comes storming back. Hall's 20 point lead down to 5. 33-28 under 2 minutes. Game changed when 2nd unit came in and DePaul really picked up their play. DePaul now
controlling tempo and SHU offense is a bit hesitant.

Hate to say it... And hopefully the starters legs are fresh enough...

But MAYBE we cannot play our entire second unit against DePaul... Tiff, Tab, Leesh, Kena, Mosley, Smith.... Only use Gordon and Molyneaux in situations when it is needed.

Hall leads 35-28 at the half. I thought our guards lost a bit of assertiveness in the last part of the quarter. DePaul is an excellent team.

L Gordon did a good job in the paint especially on defense. K Richardson has to be careful to not wear herself out. She needs to pass a bit sooner and set up a play which she has shown she can do. Also Tiffany seems to get winded and then struggles with her 3. She is so important for this team and they need a good 2nd half from her.

Understood... But go back to the SHU/DP game at Walsh... We played a 6 man rotation all 2nd half (Tab, Tiff, Smith/Mosley/Powell/Kena) and we came back from like 26 down and cut it to 7 with the chance to cut it to 4/5 with 4 minutes left.

We have to push DePaul and wear them out. They'll beat us in halfcourt basketball. It's a double edged sword because when we push the ball it only works if we can get some support off the bench. The good news is that SHU has outplayed DePaul in 2 of the 3 halves of basketball this season. This 4th half is very important. A win here has the Hall in a great position for an at large and possibly top 20.

46-39 SHU just over 5 minutes in the 3rd quarter. Exchanging baskets. Both teams are good offense and bad defense right now. SHU has to get some stops.

OK it's 56-49 after 3 quarters. Big 3's by TRS and Powell. Hall has really elevated their defensive intensity. This has the feel of an NCAA game.

Wow. I got to my car 5 minutes after the game ends and WSOU is back to rock. Nice post game coverage.

Hey that was one of the best games that an SHU Women's program has played. They were smart, mature and focused. You can't really give credit to any one person. K Richardson and Powell played an exceptional game in the backcourt. I cannot believe how much L Gordon has improved. Tony was really fired up. He was on the refs and the table officials that were confused on a change of possession situation.

That was top 20 basketball. DePaul may have been a bit off their game, but the Pirates deserve a good deal of credit for that. That is a tremendous notch on the season resume. They now have to take care of business and also payback Nova and SJU at home. SHU may have caught a break with such a young crowd and they were never rattled. The Walsh atmosphere is every bit as good if not better than today at DePaul. Great job ladies, but don't take it easy in the next game!

Now onto Marquette on the road. Let's beat em up and keep this rolling.

Great job by the women and great job by Mister Update our own NYC Pirate. Thanks!

Key team stats SH :
FG- 32-59 54.2 %
3PT 8-19 42.1%
FT's- 11-17 64.7 %
Reb.- 43

DePaul Team Stats:
FG- 36.5%
3PT 9-36 25%
FT's 78.9 %
Reb.-35

DePaul missed 27 shots from the 3 and it sounds like our defense was a key element in that stat and was a key to today's win .

You always like to have your team playing well as you head into February and each game this team has played recently they've played better and better and that's a credit to Tony and his staff . Too often I think we don't recognize how much his staff has contributed to the success of this program especially what it was when he took over so I'll just " great job " to his staff.

What a win! Well done ladies.

And we have Gordon for another year .

Now it's up to Milwaukee for Sunday's battle with Marquette.

We WIN!

We WIN!!

We WIN!!!

Danged time prevented me from seeing any of it. Grrrrr. NYCP thanks for the posts so we could get a flavor of the game. Sounds like they absolutely crushed it. Hungry team, solid play.

Gotta do the same at Marquette.

Then we've got ourselves in a great place to move forward from.

Woo-hoo! Absolutely made my day.

Way to Go Ladies! Hit them gard and fast in first quarter and knocked them off their game. Great win!
