Marshall Henderson won't be on "SportsCenter" anymore or watching the show for now.
The controversial Ole Miss guard fired off two tweets this morning bashing ESPN for a segment on Michael Sam, who became the first openly gay player to be drafted into the NFL on Saturday when the Rams selected him in the seventh round.
Henderson's college career is over, and is not expected to be drafted to the NBA.
He later explained the series of tweets as a social experiment that his gay friend, who is a psychology major, asked him to put up.
Henderson was not the first athlete to react negatively to Sam's selection. After the Missouri linebacker was picked, Dolphins safety DonJones tweeted out "OMG" and "horrible." The Dolphins fined him and will undergo educational tweeting before being allowed to return to the team.
Jones apologized for the comments and took the tweets down.
"I remember last year when I was drafted in the seventh round, and all of the emotions and happiness I felt when I received the call that gave me an opportunity to play for an NFL team, and I wish him all the best in his NFL career," Jones said in a statement. "I am committed to represent the values of the Miami Dolphins organization, and appreciate the opportunity I have been given to do so going forward."
