This is a good and interesting analysis. More is better but the really important data are PB fundraising and the financial position of the University. Fortunately, these metrics keep improving. SHU is in the best financial shape in many years.
Maybe all the schools did not see themselves as equal partners and wanted more or would walk?
Why? If someone holds the cards, they can drive a hard bargain. Someone could demand a bigger piece forever or they would not join, and maybe fox has no interest unless they do.That may be true at the inception but that disparity should disappear over time similar to a sliding scale where a school were to receive 15% of the TV revenues in year one and being reduced whereby all ten members would receive the same over a specified time period.
You would hope but I'm not so sure. We have a few schools in our conference that think a little too highly of themselves and think a little too lowly of us.
