Despite the circumstances and what we all saw Saturday, we can acknowledge things were ugly and unacceptable and change is absolutely necessary but we can also believe that Sha is still the right coach for the job.
Another big thank you to Vince, Kevin, Hall Dan and the rest of the Booster club inviting us to speak at their dinner Saturday night. Don Pepe still serves the best paella I’ve had in my life, and meeting Glenn Mosely and Greg Tynes was a priceless honor. The chance to reassure a room full of fans drowning their sorrows in sangria and seafood that despite my age I know the program has been in worse spots before was an awkward spot for my first speech to a group like that in a while but I hope it was enjoyable to those that were present. It’s hard to keep up hope but we can embrace the newfound lack of expectations and maybe build something going forward.
Also the more I listen to King Rice’s presser, the more I like him. He was weirdly inspiring even talking after Sha and Zay, and his message resonates.
