Sun Named to PING All-Region Team - Seton Hall University Athletics
Seton Hall men's golfer Wanxi Sun (Danville, Calif.) was named to the Division I PING All-Northeast Region Team.
NORMAN, OKLA. – Seton Hall men's golfer Wanxi Sun (Danville, Calif.) was named to the Division I PING All-Northeast Region Team.
Players across six regions – Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central, and West – earned all-region honors for 2023 from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team, Sun maintained a career-best 73.18 stroke average for the 2022-23 year, which ranked ninth-best in the BIG EAST Conference. The rising senior had three Top-10 finishes and collected nine sub-par rounds. The highlight of Sun's junior year came in the year's first tournament. Sun led Seton Hall to the team title at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial by winning the individual crown with a remarkable 11-under-par, 67-68-70-205, which tied for the most strokes under par ever for a Pirate. His 205 tied for the second-lowest par-72, three-round score in program history.
