How would you rate SHU's backcourt players against the rest of the Big East's.

Whitehead, Carrington (who BTW Willard noted last week might be the most improved player on the team (Ish was second), Gordon and Soffer.

Top 3?

4-7?

Bottom 3?

I think this backcourt will be terrific, right up there with the better ones in the league. Top 5 at least.

4-7....IW and KC are only soph's and we have very little depth. Terrific talent in two players but still learning. We're picked 7th for a reason (and that's with Angel up front).

Probably 4-7..Nova clearly the best with co player of the year and the most talented freshman in the big east but a lot of question marks. How do you rate butler with a transfer pg? Providence has the best player in the conference & Gtown has the 2nd best.

Good Question with two different answers. If you base it on only the two players starting, SHU would be in the top 4. I think Villanova, Georgetown are better along with Providence. The only question is whether IW can be an effective point guard.

However, once you consider the bench along with the starters, Seton Hall's ranking drops. There is very little depth and besides IW, who can run the point?

This early it's hard to say.

Carrington according to Willard has put on about 20 pounds of good weight and has been our most improved player this summer.

Whitehead had a great summer topped off by being named MVP at the Adidas camp two weeks ago for councilors.

Gordon is a quality Big East guard.

The only backcourt player who is an unknown is Soffer, but the one thing about him is that he's a dead eye shooter.

I would match Carrington and Whitehead against any two guard tandem in the league. But our lack of depth, specifically at the point is concerning and because of that I would put our backcourt in the 3-5 category.

Re depth, we could certainly use more depth, but Gordon is a helluva player for a third guard. Who knows, maybe in Soffer kw finally found a white guy who really can shoot. This to me is very worrisome of you wonder what happens if one of the starters gets hurt. I btw feel comfortable with KC and IW at point, and anticipate a good 8-10 minute run for Gordon in each half, subbing for one starter and then staying in as that starter returns and we sub for the other.

IW and KC both need to play 28-30mpg... That gives DG 20mpg... If Soffer earns it give him 5mpg.

And I would say we are prob the 4-5th backcourt in the BE.

Lets hope we have the third best backcourt in the Big East. That will really help. I think folks are discounting Khadeen and what he can do. The kid is very good and is very strong for his size. As long as we stay healthy and cut down on TOs we will be fine.

4-7 without any doubt. Villanova, Xavier, Georgetown are clearly better in the backcourt. I'd say SH is about even with Butler and Providence behind those three teams.

I'd have Villanova, Georgetown, and Butler in the Top 3. Crapshoot at 4-7 with Xavier, Providence, Seton Hall all together.

I'd say we fall into the 5 - 7 tier. There have been a number of high caliber transfers that are either now eligible or are graduate seniors that have significantly upgraded a couple of teams back courts , for example Butler has added Ty Lewis from NCS, Jordan Gathers a graduate senior from St. Bonaventure and return first team All BE Dunham. There are also some high quality JUCO's and freshman coming into the conference as well. What hurts us is our lack of depth .
