Giants bringing Tommy DeVito out of retirement from the Four Seasons. You know they’re desperate. $$ at The Book though.
There are no studs on the defense and Burns was not good today. And the last 2 weeks the starting OTs were out injured that they went against. The defense has been destroyed by opponents almost all year. The GM has not been bad. This years draft class has received high praise from around the league. The trade and then signing for Brian Burns has been terrific as he’s a stud.
Daboll knows he’s extremely limited with Jones. That’s the major issue at this point. In years past they had a roster with little talent. The giants are solid everywhere but CB and TE and maybe OL depth but there’s plenty of talent
I was a big defender of Daniel Jones but he has sadly regressed since winning the playoff game. It was a gamble at the time but as of now he is a complete shell that doesn’t have the ability to win. He’ll be gone next year and then we’ll see how it goes.
Not stopping the run by the DL at any level. There is nothing at a winning level never mind playoff for 2 years now with this organization.Bad QB play, bad DB play, bad WR, play bad TE play, bad LB play, bad OL play. The only unit that plays at a playoff caliber is the DL.
It is organization failure. Poor roster construction, the injured kicker fiasco, poor salary cap management. Hell they just asked McCloud to take a pay cut because they wanted cap money. No depth at DT, over drafting Banks, Robinson etc. and giving up picks to get them. Throw in some draft busts too. Yeah the GM is doing a great job. It’s not organizational failure; They have bad quarterback play.. it’s kinda like having bad PG play even tho both are very experienced.. see what I did there?
Okay yeah a lot of that’s true. But my point is what team and GM doesn’t have the same issues? Hiring a new GM is gonna just make perfect moves for the next 10 years? It doesn’t work that way. You wanna turn the Giants into the Jets organization of new coaches, GM’s and QB’s every 3 years be my guest.
Bob Gaudio might have had a better dayGiants bringing Tommy DeVito out of retirement from the Four Seasons. You know they’re desperate. $$ at The Book though.
They are both done. Daboll could be done next week when Dallas rolls over the Giants on Thanksgiving.I don't think there is any doubt Daboll has lost the team. His game plan yesterday was bad. I knew Todd Bowles was going to pressure him - who didn't? Instead of designing the offense to get the ball quickly out of Cutlets hand, they run and call dropback pass plays? They adjusted in the second half but the game was over. Then when they are driving, running the ball well and its first and goal from the 5 early in the 3rd quarter, Daboll calls another trick play and they lose yards?? What the heck? Did he not learn from the last time he called a trick play. They were running the ball well. Keep playing physical and run it down their throats and get some momentum. He's pressing with his play calls and losing the offense and Nabers for sure.
I believe Schoen has committed malpractice with the Giants many times. He inherited a difficult cap situation but he's not liked in the locker room at all. I saw a TV host (former football player) say over the weekend that free agents are not coming to the Giants with the way they have handled their free agents. Telling. I don't like too much change but Schoen IMO has done a hair better than Gettleman. That is a low bar. The Giants beat writers are starting to sense it too and are circling. The Athletic had a fan survey today and NJ.COM and NY Post articles are questioning Schoen and Daboll on everything. The drum is beating.
