The NIL beat goes on

I had heard recently that all 16 quarterbacks in the SEC make more money than Brock Purdy. It is just bonkos.

If it makes anyone on the hoops side feel better, it seems Duke is now becoming a feeder program for QBs to high majors. The opposite of hoops, basically.

Lost the kid to ND who is now playing in the title game.

Just lost his replacement to another power program.

But they just took Tulane’s qb for 2years $8million

I know. And they got Murphy from Texas last year where I think he was the co-backup with Archie.

But Leonard is QB'ing ND in the title game. That's about as reverse-face as you can get between hoops and football.

Just wait until the next Bo Jackson or even a Jameis Winston comes along who was pretty good on the FSU baseball team.

Those guys will try to stay in college for 10 years while collecting paychecks from two separate sports.

And I think more will be on the way with the success of Ohtani and Travis Hunter. Or what’s to stop some of these football guys of going to track and field.

The money will be ridiculous

The only hope we have to get things back on track is some kind of immunity from NIL lawsuits. The system is broken & if something isn't done soon, college sports are doomed.

If you think about it, how many of the 364 teams actually benefit from an NIL advantage. Maybe 20-25?

Granted there are different tiers of advantage but my guess is that only the teams in the highest tier like the way things are headed.

I think the transfer portal is here to stay & I'm OK with that with some tweaks. No doubt the number would be massively reduced if $ wasn't the deciding factor.

It’s over. Big Ten and SEC quarterbacks are getting 6 million or more.

Soon enough the team salary will match the NFL so much that the super bowl will be played between the NFL champs and whoever wins the “College Football” playoff, better known as the SEC/Big Ten title game.
