This should help us with Bryce Aiken

When any HS player says he's going to announce his choice and then doesn't a significant part of the time it's because a new school gets involved with a player that attracts the player's interest. Like others I don't know if that is the case here or not ( and I can't believe I'm saying this) it may not have anything to do with KW or SH and the way this player was recruited by Us.

Without any information on this kid at all, but from the tea leaves on here it seems like this was a kid that Shaheen signed, sealed, and delivered -- and the Head Coach fumbled -- again.
Agree with Donnie-baseball. Willard has not shown an ability to close. Glad we got Powell in the early period.

Personally, I am in no rush to know when Aiken will announce his decision. He should do it in his own good time. When he does, I hope he picks us. That being said, I am mildly disappointed that after finding his closing power tie for Powell, KW suddenly wore his non-closing power tie for Aiken. Dress for success I always say. Perhaps the good power tie was in the cleaners. Or perhaps Aiken not making an announcement has nothing at all to do with Willard.

It would be real nice to see the staff bring in the two players they targeted as top choices.

SPK's logic is pretty sound.

I cannot root for Whitehead to stay. If he leaves and it is warranted I will deal with the set back. In the interim, I hope we land Aiken.

Whitehead was not even the best guard on the team last year. Maybe he leaves after next year but that would be a monumental mistake. No way is he NBA ready.

Depends.

If Whitehead stays, it's not a huge loss, very little PT for Aiken next year. If you think he's leaving, it's a huge get but also huge set back for the program.
Having a SHU player go to the NBA early is far from a setback in my opinion. Would be somewhat of a blueprint for elite area kids. Getting any top rated metro kid is always gonna be huge. IW wont be here forever.

Not agreeing with your words "a setback for the program." Good programs don't complain when they lose a good player like IW. Sure we would have a freshman most likely playing the point and we lose IW. IW is our best player but if he is that good, good programs need to find a way to replace those player's points and production. We would have a very good 2 guard with Khadeen who will improve each year. He could take over as "the guy" next year. We'd have much more experience at the 3 with Desi and Veer. Our PF situation would be more experienced and hopefully better (question mark though at this time). And hopefully the Center position would be better with one of the young guys stepping up (big question mark though right now). We still need to recruit a good big for next year IMO to make it work. If Angel and IW both go I agree with your statement but that is not what you said. In the end good programs have to take players like IW that may go pro early and back it up with good recruiting. We are not there but worrying about IW leaving is for losers. Hopefully he has a great year and he does leave. That will be good for him and for Seton Hall.

I wouldn't worry about Whitehead. He is going to put his name in the draft next season, go to camp and then be advised by the NBA his approximate draft position.

He will be getting accurate info, not nonsense from family members, friends or an entourage.

He'll then make a decision based on that info.

I think Whitehead will play this year how many thought he would play last year, and how good he is will surprise the s out of many SHU fans. This kid is terrific and made to have the ball in his hands.

I can't say for certain if Aiken is a game changer, but he is listed on Rivals Top 100. I think that is a good thing. If he picks us, I will be very pleased.

It will be terrific to get two NJ Top 100 kids. We have to raise perception too, and this would be a nice turnaround for our recruiting.

I agree that it would be a big win in the perception game. But you need to play the game on the floor.

Recruiting isn't on the floor and you get Top 100 kids and the game on the floor is gonna follow most of the time.

it was clear to me that it was always going to be Harvard. Of course I'd love to be wrong, but them staying in the hunt till the very end meant to me that was where he really wanted to go, since it was so unlike the rest of the suitors.

We'll know what his decision is tomorrow and I doubt that 99% of the posters ( with a very, very few exceptions like Dan ) on this Board know what that is and what you're seeing posted here on what school it is is pure speculation .

Your negative take is rather shocking.

I have no idea what is being said, but as I read things, he is gonna be a Pirate. Pure speculation.

Mark my word.....Aiken will not play for Amaker......He will be at different school next year.
