Starting pg isnt assertive enough
No BIG east caliber center
Femi and kc holes on offense
Tae in too long
Shaheen has got a ton of issues to deal with
Yep, we are grateful for that victory. The effort is certainly there, but meshing this roster is a tough assignment. They still need to improve. Memphis did not look like a good team tonight. Take the win and move on but regardless this team needs to improve a lot.
And can anyone make a free throw??The turnovers are a huge problem if this team wants to go anywhere
The first half was rough, but we won that game by going 9-9 from the line over the last 5 minutes. So I'd say yes.And can anyone make a free throw??
That was so big. Dre Davis and Samuel were clutch. The first half was rough, but we won that game by going 9-9 from the line over the last 5 minutes. So I'd say yes.
Doesnt change the facts. Shaheen is still not happy w the offense. Every interview he wants tyrese and kadary get more agressive. Hooe that happensYou spoke too soon
Agreed. Id go with dawes over jamir. Better ball handlerI just think Samuel sat too long in the 2nd half. He needs to average 25 min a game to give us the best chance to win. A lit of new pieces including the coach so I'll give a BIG pass on the rotation for now.
At this point I really feel like between their offense and defensive blend
Richmond
J. Harris
T. Davis
Jackson
Samuel
give us the best chance to win. I know it's a wacky lineup but just my observations

But to be expected given everything going on at this point of the season.Agree. A win is a win, but the original poster's observations are not wrong. The two games against good competition have been tough on the eyes.

Give some context. 9 missed FTS at 21/30. 70%. Would rank 150/352 NCAA teams season avg. Aka above average FT shooting at the D1 level.9 missed ft

Agree that Memphis is not a great team. One great player in Davis and one brute under the boards who pushed around our PFs masquerading as centers. They still need to improve. Memphis did not look like a good team tonight. Take the win and move on but regardless this team needs to improve a lot.
You never measure SHU against the other 352. You measure them against the Power 6 conferences and maybe a dozen other teams. Their foul shooting is below average compared to peersGive some context. 9 missed FTS at 21/30. 70%. Would rank 150/352 NCAA teams season avg. Aka above average FT shooting at the D1 level.
Name me the people you consider BE caliber centers in the big east.
The rest is conjecture.
Relax.
You best check those percentages. You never measure SHU against the other 352. You measure them against the Power 6 conferences and maybe a dozen other teams. Their foul shooting is below average compared to peers
AmenWe did win , didn't we ? Never argue about a WIN !!!

That 70% is very deceiving as we missed the majority of the front end of the one and one’s throughout the game and that in reality is like missing 2 although not scored that way. Nevertheless what a way to end a wonderful day! They did everything they could to lose that game. If they could clean up the sloppy passing and keep the turnovers to a minimum they probably wouldn't have had to rely on a hail mary bankshot to win. I am surprised looking at the box score that they finished with a 70 percent at the free-throw line. Thankfully Dre isnt a liability at the stripe.
I went by his numbers of 70% and average of 352You best check those percentages.
+1. Just need to put things in perspective. One thing that strikes me about this team right now is that they are play offense at the same speed at which they played defense. Need to slow that down as that’s creating too many unforced turnovers. It was a tough, physical, grind-out kind of a game against a team at our level perhaps slightly above. It wasn't pretty but we came back from down 6 with less than 4 to play and picked up a very important Q1 win.
We have a lot of new players and a new coach. The turnover situation should get better you'd think, but right now that part of the game is tough to watch. Seton Hall is 318th in turnover % in the country.
