Toomey on Trump chances

I would take all of this more seriously if it were an even handed, honest, bi-partisan investigation into the totality of what happened leading up to and on Jan 6. I wouldn't put a fork into Trump just yet... but for the record am hoping he chooses not to run but continues to support his strong policies from the sidelines. Love his policies though and hope the GOP's strong bench comes through. But if Trump doesn't run, where oh where will all the Dem rage be directed. OMG... do THEY have rage. Oh wait... the Supreme Court.

Who do you think the two best candidates (Dem and Rep) would be?

I wish I had an answer but I don’t. I’m not really sure the answer is a current politician in either party. The one thing Trump confirmed is that a non career politician can do the job. Now if we can get some of our best and brightest without a gigantic ego to want the position that will be when America wins. Just too many politicians not in tune with the American people today. A bunch of haves who do not understand have nots. Sorry I do not have a better answer but I’m not sure America is giving us one right now. Until we get away from team politics, and people not afraid to stand up against their party for what is right just for the sake of what is right, the politicians of today aren’t serving us.

The biggest problem is to win a primary you have to sell your soul to the far end of your party, then to win the presidential election you better come back center. Most Americans are in the middle 60%. Unfortunately the far right and the far left have too much impact on who represents each party. Until the parties figure out a way to nominate the best person to appeal to that middle 60% for the general election in the primaries, we are in trouble.

12th amendment altered original electoral college procedure no?

2000 bush cheney, cheney had to get residency in wyoming...sold home he had in texas
Not true at all, president and vice president can be from the same state.

I am of the opinion that America is better off when ruled from the approximate center. The primary system seemed like a good idea at the time, but in fact it hasn't been because those voting in the primaries are primarily at the extremes from each party.

Polarization IMO is the most serious threat to our nation. Where is General Eisenhower now when we need him.?

100% agree, but we get to the general election and the majority holds their nose to vote party lines. Why? No one has a gun to your head. Send a message even if it doesn’t pay off immediately. Otherwise, look in the mirror.

The problem is that all too often neither of the candidates presented to us in the November election is worthy of the position that they are running for.

So vote for a third party candidate that does.

The question posed is actually 3 questions. First who will be the nominees for the two major parties, Secondly who would be the best candidates to win the election and third who would make the best President.

As to the first question I think the two nominees will be two people I do not like and I'd have trouble voting for either : DeSantis and Booker. As to who gets the nomination I think DeSantis will be the GOP candidate. The Dem side is more problematical as no candidate really stands out. O'Rourke would become the favorite if he is elected Governor in Texas but I do not expect that to happen.

As I said in another post I think America is best off when governed from the center. I think the biggest problem we have is polarization & I thought that Biden would help remedy that but he couldn't. Of course I also thought Trump would fade into the background after the election. OK so much for those predictions. Anyway the person who I now think would make the best President is someone who has no chance to get the nomination and admittedly a person that I voted against in the past:. MITT ROMNEY. As to the best Dem if elected as President. Tough choice but I'll go with Amy Kobochar.

If Mitt won in 2012, the course of the last 10 years would have been vastly different. I voted for Obama in 2012, but in hindsight it would have been better for America if Romney had won.

Romney would make a good president but maybe too old. I’m wishy-washy on some of his policies but maybe that’s not a bad thing.

There is nothing to suggest Klobuchar is qualified to run the country. No experience running anything.

Biden is the most radical President in US history

He did a little bait and switch to fool the voters

You’re there a lot 😆😆😆

I’ll post here anytime I want.

Why are you for censorship ?

I don’t like Twitt Romney and you’re trying to silence me

Seems like you’re against free speech.
That’s trolling and a bad look for ya
You're free to continue acting like an idiot. Who is censoring you?

Say what?

You seriously think Twitt Romney is a good politician ?
Well that was not the question. The issue is would he make a good President. But as to the question of being a good politician, let's see he was elected Governor of a Liberal State in Mass. & Senator in Conservative Utah as well as the Republican nominee for President. By my way of thinking that makes him a great politician. Now do you have anything to contribute other than name calling. If not just move on.

I think he’d be an awful President (you voted against him) for many reasons but since he has no chance anyways it’s a moot point.

BTW: Hall85 is the one that did the name calling. Twice.

I’ve given my opinions ITT with Tulsi vs RDS as my choices as the best candidates.

Who are your choices?
