Shades of Portland when you disagree with administration in power you resort to violence because of your moral superiority. This is not your father’s Democratic Party but the party of the left with the hope of those old enough to remember the 1960’s violence with Obama buddy Bill Ayers the famed Weatherman bomber is not repeated.

The “Hate Has No Home Here” crowd…ironic. MSM always refers to Musk as “the world’s richest man”, and how he is just looking to enrich himself. Meanwhile, his dealerships are getting fire bombed, sales are down, and his stock is taking a hit.. … how is that actually enriching himself?

Do I agree with everything he doesn’t says? Absolutely not. But if you haven’t noticed, he just rescued two stranded astronauts when other missions failed.

If you go back and look at his entire life, he only pursues endeavors that are innovative and also provide good. Plows money back into the businesses and doesn’t even on a house. His competition is other innovators and tech executives. Always trying to prove that he is the best.

Historically he has had absolutely no use for politics, which is well documented. So I ask, why would he put a huge target on his back with aligning with Trump and leading DOGE?

Man, those signs must have really trigged you to keep bringing them up.
The Venn diagram of those attacking Tesla cars and dealerships and those who had those signs up probably does not have much overlap if any.

I have no issue with him aligning himself with Trump. I have no issue with him volunteering to help with DOGE, it is the jump into politicization, misleading claims, lies, demonization of his political enemies, etc that I have an issue with. Why he decided to go that route, I'm not sure. Seems like a personal vendetta.

Merge it actually makes me laugh. Because clearly it triggers people as witnessed in other threads….pretty recently too. They can’t handle the truth… Lol.

I agree that he has come in like a wrecking ball but we’ve discussed the “why” on that. But the left hated Musk with vitriol well before DOGE was even announced. The fact that he was supporting Trump as a candidate was enough.

Irony of the day. Senator Mark Kelly, who was an ASTRONAUT is more concerned about selling his Tesla than celebrating the return of two stranded astronauts after over 10 months.

Democrats billionaire donor financing the criminal attacks as you would.think The ends justify the means for a number of dem donors after these clowns are trying to tell people they are defending democracy in effect they are freedom fighters.Unfortunately a lot of low IQ Dems are saying right on.

He now is deeply involved in politics. Saying that any Republican that goes against the Trump agenda will be primaried. So why does he want this. “Poor man wanna be rich, rich man wanna be king and the king isn’t satisfied u til he owns everything”

In my opinion Musk wants to be president. Since he can’t, he will be a de facto president. Modeled after George Norcross who although unelected, is the most powerful politician in NJ and uses his wealth to get there. Musk will be the king maker and will use his wealth to gain power.

The first time I saw one of those signs, I told the person I was with please go knock on their door and ask them if they hate Trump. He laughed because it's so true. It's the biblical story of noticing the speck of sawdust in someone else's eye and ignoring the plank in your own eye. Literally they say hate doesn't live here, when we all know it clearly does. They just find hate of certain people/groups acceptable, which is fine with me, you can hate whoever you want, just don't be righteous and say hate has no place here or hate doesn't live here.

Completely disagree. And I based my opinions on history. Musk has taken an incredible risk to start up companies that have a profound effect on mankind. Tesla for EV’s and the environment, Starlink to provide communications to areas that don’t have access, SpaceX to enable man to explore Mars, NeuroLink to make life improvements for people with disabilities, the Boring Company to enable cities to reduce gridlock and emissions. He was even trying to create a company that could mass produce solar panels that also doubled as the roof of a home.He has a huge ego which quite frankly it’s not unusual for somebody that is doing the work that he is doing.

It remains to be seen how he helps Trump achieve his agenda…. But history tells me what Musk is really about.

It wasn’t too long ago that Elon was the darling of the left. The party is failing everywhere, time for new blood. Saw an interview with Stephen Smith and the border czar Tom Homan. Smith does a great job asking questions and sorting things out. He is apparently thinking of running as a Democrat for President. Guy is smart and a clear thinker type of new blood Dems need. Interview below for anyone who might be interested.

Chris Cuomo does a segment with Stephen A. Smith and Bill O’Reilly a few times a week on NewsNation. It’s really a good watch as they discuss issues and don’t rely on the mindnumbing talking points you see on the news. Both are very provocative and have interesting insights.

News nation does a great job, Stephen A. Smiths and Joe Rogans of the world are setting a new standard, resembles what a reporter or interviewer should be doing. Times are a changing Trump knew it and the democrats are losing ground sticking to the same blueprint that brought us to this fork in the road. There may come a day when the Stephen A. smiths of the world will be accepted by the party who now’s posts signs on there lawn that hate has no place here. Chris Cuomo of News Nation is much different from the guy on CNN.

I agree with that. Musk looks to the future and thinks about the things we will be inevitably be doing in 10, 20, 50, 100 years from now and he starts working on the solutions that will get us there.

But history tells me what Musk is really about.

It tells what he was about, but not really the story on why he abandoned many of his stances in favor of joining the political fighting and adding to the divisiveness.

But we don’t know, why he has chosen politics. Looking back I wonder if people at Twitter to lead the next information revolution. It certainly is giving him a platform for everything he is doing.

It wasn’t too long ago that Elon was the darling of the left.

He was a very different person then.

If you care about the environment and believed that we should be moving towards renewable energy then of course Musk would be a hero to that movement for a decade.

Musk has abandoned those views though in favor of what he calls "Dark MAGA" politics and attacks and demonizes democrats. Of course opinions on him would change.

Times are a changing Trump knew it and the democrats are losing ground sticking to the same blueprint that brought us to this fork in the road.

Absolutely agree on that.

Then he goes home to his 3 bedroom ranch that he purchased for $50,000. A real rich SOB. If you get a chance read an article published in the Wall Street journal about the 10 traits of extremely successful people. Has nothing to do with power, and everything to do with solving problems.

Elon Musk reportedly lives in a $50,000, three-bedroom ranch-style house, which he rents from SpaceX, located in Boca Chica, Texas, near the SpaceX Starbase facility.

Here's a more detailed look:

  • Location: Boca Chica, Texas, near the SpaceX Starbase.
  • Type of Home: A three-bedroom, ranch-style house.
    • Cost: $50,000.
    • Ownership: He rents the property from SpaceX.
    • Other Residences: Musk previously owned several grand homes, but has since downsized, selling them to focus on his ventures.
    • Description: The house is described as simple and uncluttered, and is located near the SpaceX launch site.
    • Other Details: Musk revealed on X that he was renting the home in 2021.

He was a very different person then.

Think he sees the new democratic thinking as a problem. Party turned way left under Biden, Dems have a 27% approval rating. The current positions are not being well received by majority of American people. As stated truly successful people are motivated by solving problems. Elon sees the Democratic Party as a problem, you may as well when he’s finished cleaning things up.

But we don’t know, why he has chosen politics.

My best guess at the moment is personal vendetta.

1. Democrats did not embrace him because they were afraid to embrace a non union automaker even though he would have aligned very much with democratic causes.
2. He hated Covid restrictions and blames democrats for them. He was very wrong on Covid early on, but not really capable on admitting he was wrong, he kept doubling down further and further into the political fights.
3. He has stated he feels duped that he allowed his child to take puberty blockers and holds a lot of resentment towards the far left because of that.

I think those three things shaped who is now very much. Had the democrats embraced Tesla, had Covid never happened, and had his child not been trans I think Musk would be a completely different person today.

Oh I see the problem for sure. Their leadership is awful and they don't know how to deal with the split in the party between progressivism and centrism and democrats just don't really have a platform right now. I have no idea what they are standing for other than "we oppose Trump a little bit" They need a unifying figure for the party to get behind with a vision for the future. They need someone that is inspiring but I don't know who that would be at this point.

Not saying Stephen A. Smith is that guy, but he’s likable, reasonable, appeals to people who just want common sense solutions. He’s not afraid to hear from someone on the other side or engage with someone asking him tough questions. JD Vance will sit down with anyone as will Trump. Dems need to stopping hating and be smart enough to engage with anyone without any preparation. Joe Rogan and Stephen Smith don’t bite they ask tough questions and listen. Shapiro may be the guy but sure as hell is being really quiet when Democrats are looking for leadership. No one is really to step forward and stand for something. Fetterman has quietly made comments but no one is listening. Party is at a cross roads.

Bingo has everything to do with his kid. Not power not money but principal. Good take on things.

The Musk biography is a fascinating perspective on him. He is not above hitting back at someone that attacks him, but he is a futurist and big picture guy first. He saw an opportunity in Twitter that nobody did. He believes in meritocracy and I’m sure the identity politics and DEI over the top strategy by Democrats had more to do with turning him off.

In some ways, he is very much like Trump. I think they have found a common ground in totally reshaping the government and leaving that as their legacy.

The thing I like about NewsNation is that not only do they play it right down the middle, but instead of getting guests with two different extreme points of view and having people yell the same old talking points, they have more critical thinking and interviews. I think the Stephen A. Smith and Bill O’Reilly segments are a good example of that. But there’s other examples as well. Ali Bradley has been embedded on the southern border and has done some excellent reporting.

Those segments are the only reason I watch his show. He used to be a CNN shill. Cuomo to me still the same guy who said on tv mask up and stay inside and went out didn’t wear a mask and told people off when they called him for his BS. But those segments are the best on TV because it’s real discussions of different sides looking to discuss and not just yell louder than the other guy.

Totally agree. Cuomo is still full of himself and loves to hear himself speak. Deep down it feels like his schtick about “the game” is not genuine. But the show has done a good job of having guests that make you think and Cuomo is playing the role.
