for an evening program for the BET. Creighton, X , and Buthead, how stimulating-I'd rather watch Exhibition BBal. And what's worse, knowing that my alma mater could swamp all 4 of the evening participants if they had some proper coachingl

You must not be watching this game. Creighton has been fighting hard all year. A very well coached team.

They look good. The one kid's game (#1) reminds me of what Carrington can be. They also showed how many close losses they had in the BE. Two against us.

Sorry, fellas, who cares about Creighton-I care about Seton Hall. Secondly, GTown is no bargain, so please don't make any big deal about Creighton competing with them. These midwestern parochials, I really don't want to hear anything positive about them, they can all take a hike, I'm looking for us to go forward, I could care less if all of them lose 20+ games a year. As a matter of fact, I hope they all do[including Marq and their crumbbun caoch]

Andover Joe, all you have to do is take a look at who has aligned himself with this opinion to see its folly.

These Midwestern parochials are our partners in this strange new world of basketball, and they bring a lot of credibility to our league. Butler played in two national championship games within the last five (or whatever) years, Marquette has been a national force, Xavier is a noted cradle of coaches with a solid NCAA history, and DePaul (which actually has a solid heritage) gives Seton Hall permanent competition for the basement.

Of course the BET is more fun when we're playing, but since we remain stuck in neutral for the past 20 years, we can at least appreciate the fine level of play our conference mates bring to New York in March.

Maybe some day, we'll stop trying to be good merely by association and start trying to compete with them.

NCAA bids by school:
Xavier-24
Creighton -19
Butler-12
Seton Hall-9

The mighty Seton Hall making fun of conference schools. This board has become the "Rutgers" of the new Big East. The way the RU fans trashed everyone in the old Big East and NEVER had success there, yet they continued to talk trash.

+ 1000. Those two games last night were by far the best games of the BET so far. All the teams were very well coached and the kids left it all on the floor with incredible effort. Also the brand of basketball was terrific. And the Garden was full with Butler fans and Creighton fans etc who seem to really travel well to NY.

Joe you must be watching SHU too much and have forgotten what good basketball is. It was on full display last night in two terrific games. Glad to have the new teams in the mix.

A lot of "old timers," "traditionalists," etc. (whatever you want to call them) don't think good basketball is played outside of the northeast, specifically New York and New Jersey. In fact, a lot of them seem to think the world stops at the Delaware River.

They don't know what they're missing.
