No, not any time soon just on the school sharing it's budget. My guess is SHU can share around $3-4M tops.
It's only possible to get to that level with the NIL being complementary. And considering that our NIL has been in taters since it began, uh, I doubt it. The $1.5M we had to spend last year was an improvement from the year before and a major improvement from the year prior when we lost Tyrese Samuel. We never would've kept Kadary Richmond, Dre Davis, and maybe even Al-Amir Dawes (despite closeness to Sha) if that transfer rule wasn't still in limbo.
The NIL really should improve and double or triple from what it is, IMO. I think it's more the ineptitude of our current approach than a lack of SHU supporters nationwide.
Everyone on the inside at the school is pointing to the donors who came up with $25M for the new practice facility. Were they one-timers who sat out NIL? Did they somehow budget facility > NIL and are now coming around? IDK, that's Felt's job to have locked down.
