Where will it end?

Didn't know until this week that words/terms like "uppity", "master bedroom" and "peanut gallery" were racist or had racial connotations. I apologize to everyone to whom I may have uttered those words/terms in my 73 years. I guess I'm going to have to dispose of my LL.M degree now too.

With all due respect sir if you are truly sorry you would donate back all the money you made for having that degree. LOL

I heard the National realitors association would be changing their verbiage from master bedroom/bathroom to primary room. Sounds like a lot of mental primarybation to me.
Funny one!

I hope we can all keep our heads, try to find some humor when applicable and try to remedy the injuries/harm sustained by the oppressed.

We should because I fear the groups claiming to are tools of the real oppressor class.

Using the N word is always wrong and unquestionable IMO. A lot of this other stuff is just silly.

I had a hostess at a Boston restaurant last year get upset because I pointed to my wife and said I'm sitting with her. She corrected me and said they don't use those gender specific terms anymore? I told her that was her choice and she didn't like it. I should have talked to the restaurant owner to tell them the girl was very abrasive but I did not. The world has gone batshit crazy and people are way too sensitive instead of looking at peoples intent and how they treat others. Actions are always more powerful than words but not in a twitter-driven society.
I've been going to my dentist since 1990. Last August I went for a cleaning and as I was checking out and scheduling my next appointment, a new person working there I had never met looked up at me and said, "Donald, I hate that name." There was a long pause where I was trying to comprehend what would compel her to say that to me and the awkwardness of the moment hung in the air for a couple of seconds and then she stammered, "no offense to you, it's because of the president. I can't stand him." I just stood there looking at her without saying a word, and let what she just said speak for itself. To say I was shocked that a worker representing a dentist would actually say something like this was unfathomable until this generation.

I would have told the dentist that I did not appreciate the commentary from this new employee and that he should talk to her if he didn’t want to lose patients!

You should have complained. As it was, you probably wound up with a hocker in your oyster stew. This is why I have not eaten restaurant food since March 11th with the exception of one pizza where I could see it's preparation. I remember Jesse Jackson saying he spit in the food of a country club member in South Carolina when he was waiting tables as a Young Man.

Just a member in good standing of the intolerant left. In 1983 Ted Kennedy was invited and spoke at Liberty University. He thanked the audience for their polite and courteous reception and bemoaned that Rev Falwell was not shown the same when he was hissed and jeered from the stage at Harvard. It’s a great speech on liberty and tolerance and it is lost on many . I commend it to you all:

The sad thing is that White people are leading this charge as a way to apologize for our ancestors misdeeds. Do you think people who live in NYC, and have seen a significant increase in crime, want to see their police force reduced and/or have them stand down?
If these New Yorkers don't want to defund or have their police dept, gutted they should start screaming at deBlaiso & Cuomo just like the radicals are doing. If the powers that be don't start acting like they have a pair, then vote them out. If they don't do that, they have nobody to blame but themselves.

So I have no issue with the grievances many people of color feel. I know many have been subject to indignities. But this effort is so destructive and rooted in the desire to end the American system . Rep Ilan Omar said as much the other day. Dismantle all the elements of America she finds oppressive; namely capitalism.

Agreed. This is an effort to end capitalism and the American way of life masked as "equality" for classes of people who have been oppressed. This gets them sympathy and coverage with the media and public at large because on the surface it looks good since nobody supports racism or inequality in the treatment of minorities. But deep below the surface, it is a sinister movement intent on destroying the US system of government, finance and culture.

It’s not even deep below the surface at this point. They are being quite upfront about it.

Or....

We can change lights that are green as to not offend the Irish

Or...

We can change lights that are red as to not offend Native Americans

Or...

We can change lights that are orange as to not offend sunbathers
Insanity rules the day!

Yup. And any lever that can be pushed from now until November will continue to be. I didn’t vote for our current President but it is patently obvious what’s going on here.

I highly recommend George Orwell’s 1984. His prophetic vision is extraordinary.

The fascists of the left want to silence all dissent and this group is led by the media, Universities and Dems. These are the same people that tried to force nuns to pay for birth control and are increasingly anti-Semitic. Hold your nose a vote for Republicans.

Instead of talking figuring out how to address homicide, violent crime and shooting rates that harken back to the Dinkins era.

I agree. I didn't vote for him either and I likely won't this time either. But it is obvious to anyone with common sense what is going on. They couldn't get him on Russia, impeachment or anything else. The virus fell into their laps and they are exploiting it by targeting the one thing the president was polling well on: the economy.

Everyone should read it if they haven't. What's going on today is as close to that book as I have ever seen in America. I call this virus COVID-1984 because they are using it to push through control of the population's behavior and thought.

maybe, but it is a global pandemic so while it seems extreme its probably not too far off what the measures might have been anyway.

and trump has turned into a full blown lunatic. basically responds to everything in the most non decent manor possible. its so shocking that its comedic. hes off the deep end, hes a child, hes gotta go.

By the day he’s becoming the lesser choice of two evils. His competition is a Weekend at Bernie’s caricature who seems inclined to turn his party over fringe madness. I can’t believe the stuff he’s saying through canned messages - since who knows if he is coherent enough to form his own thoughts at this point - is the same guy who was VP not long ago and in the Senate forever with a rep as a common sense centrist on many things. Trump goes off the deep end end but not long ago we were looking at what even his critics admit was a very good economy with historically low unemployment. For all the noise and nonsense, I may be able to live with that compared to what seems to be the only other option.

His approach is clueless. Take this tweet for example:

Instead of ranting about more tests leading to more case counts, he should be arguing that cases are not the story as most people will experience mild illness (if anything) and recover. But he is so warped that he sees the higher numbers as a direct challenge to him.

I don't think Biden will cave to the radical left, but you never know. If you're in the middle like me, you have to weigh the risk. Can the country handle four more years of Trump? If you think so, is it worth the divisiveness that will surely get worse but on the positive end, prevent the radical left from taking over the country?

If you believe Biden will be what he always was and not cave to the radicals dragging his party to the far left, I think the vote has to be for him. If not, you have to take the bad with the good from Trump as him staying in office prevents this fundamental change that will destroy the country.

She was. I still think America dodged a bullet with Hillary, but Trump isn't much better.

The question is not will Biden cave to the left. Will his VP cave to the left. I don't see Biden lasting 4 years. Is Trump for 4 more years better than someone like Stacy Abrams or Kamala Harris for 2-3 years? Also if Trump wins how far will the left and the MSM go to destroy things.
