Congratulations to Coach Willard, his staff, and the team. Our first winning conference season in 10 years and likely our first NCAA appearance since 2006 as well.

Although i didnt think he had the best game tonight, i give him a big old congrats for hittin the 10 spot.
Credit where it is due!! And it's due not only to coach but to Isaiah.... Man can you have a better game? Forget st John's game, other than that he's been great. And we have the complementary scoring from various sources... Gives us options.
Fun to watch when we share the ball and take pride in our defense.

Looked like he had his guys ready to play from the opening tip and to start the 2nd half. Things he has been crucified for in the past but never gets acknowledged when the team does well
If Carrington is hitting his outside shots, which keeps the opponents defense honest, we are going to be a very dangerous team.
As a past critic of Kevin I have no problem admiring the job he's done with this very talented group of sophomores plus one grad senior this year and would love to see him top it off with not only an NCAA bid but a win as well. He, his staff , the players and the long suffering SH fans deserve it.

The guy has coached his ass off. 3 biggest moves of the year, benching Whitehead in OT bs WSU, benching Desi vs DePaul, and benching everyone vs Creighton. He's pushed all the right buttons and even risked losing vs WSU and DePaul. But he sent a message. It was high risk and high reward.

Well, that may be true, but FLNJ predicts we will be top 3 every season with a Final Four appearance here and there. The guy is the ultimate homer.

We saw signs earlier in the season that this team had a different feel to it with how Willard managed certain situations. Then we saw them respond and fight back after being punched, and overall a much-improved team since those early games.

Amazing what talented kids from winning programs can do for a coach. The weave looks good when kids listen and execute. He never deserved the beating this board gave him, awesome to watch all his hard work pay off. We all owe him for never giving up on the program.
Meaningless statement. Team did great last night. Coach did great last night. It takes a bit from the win that Providence was definitely not at full strength, and they've been trending down for weeks. I'm already convinced that with great players this coach can succeed.
That doesn't mean there aren't consistent issues with his tenure that need to be addressed unless you are fine with only getting to the tournament every 6 years. Gotta hope IW stays if we make a run in the tournament. Have to hope JT doesn't get expelled, or that we find another guard to replace him since the loss of Gordon is going to be impacting.
It's possible to both enjoy right now, congratulate the team, and still have reservations about the coach. I'm not sure why some people are obsessed with proving that such an opinion is wrong by chastising other posters with name-calling and poor attempts at shaming.

I think we lose for the same reasons we lost the first time. their bigs are too big and too plenty. they look GOOD.
