I don't know for sure what went on behind closed doors last year, but there's definitely been a difference in how Willard has approached his team this year. Yes, of course having talented players who fit his style (defenders) is critical, but so is leadership as we saw in previous years.
I became pretty critical of Willard as each losing season piled up and as we continue to follow the same template of futility. I'm glad there's light at the end of the tunnel and he found success.
