WOW, What a win!!

Best part was when he and Richmond went nose to nose during a time out. A couple of minutes later Kooks blew by him for a 3 point play and Spencer's 5th foul.

Did you check out the smirk on Richmond's face?
I thought Richmond tried to swipe at the ball before the time out and I thought O'Connell was going to give him a T. He did have to separate them. That smirk was great.

But they showed they could play solid D, close out on three point shooters, fight for every loose ball, make free throws, attack the rim, and be selective with their 3 point shooting. Most importantly Kadary took over, Dre provided scoring support, and Wusu and Dawes (at times) played within themselves.
Wait, is this the same team I was watching throughout the OOC schedule? That team had no defensive intensity at all, the team we watched last night..damn, they played defense and played hard. It's also as if Sha had them "playing possum" during the OOC.

I have been shocked at how bad out D has been all year. This is more how i expected out D to play (holding teams under 70). Just an absolutely fantastic effort. I really feared we would start Big East play 1-5. I am going to have to go back to the drawing board. i thought 4 of first 6 on road, with both home games against Top 6 teams was just brutal.
I think the next two games are telling.

But…also learned that, yes, a team can play 180 degrees from where they have been, in a dime.

Now the question is consistency…hence the next two games. Not saying they both need to be wins…but do we see this better defense, and less “chuck it up” offense and more of the aggressive drive to the basket approach…so let’s see
