OT: Creighton at Providence

The Hall could just as easily go 3-5 the rest of the way, but if they can somehow go 5-3 they would actually have a realistic chance to finish second in the conference. Creighton now 7-5 with 8 to go. Marquette should finish second, but if they go 5-4 losing to UConn both times & SHU wins 5 it could happen. All the teams have very tough games left and we can't go overboard at this point.

Hall needs both Nova games, Xavier, Butler and DePaul all at home. The SJU road game is the fallback. This Nova game is huge. They have to play a whole lot better as a team than tonight. You would think the Nova crowd may not have the juice at noon on Superbowl Sunday, but you never know.
We should beat Nova x2 , Butler, SJU & DePaul. Xavier, UCONN, Crieghton any would be a bonus. Win 6 and we’re a lock and top 8 seed.

Its been a rollercoaster lately:

**We were 8-5 in 2023, finished 10-10 and blew NCAAT chance.

**We were 6-8 in 2022, finished 11-8 and made NCAAT.

**We were 10-5 in 2021, finished 10-9 and blew NCAAT chance.

There needs to be a little more context to those finishes though.

In 2023 we go 2-5 down the stretch but lose to 3 top 25 teams and Nova twice plus didn’t have Kadary for essentially the final four games after he exited early vs UConn.

In 2022 the 5 game winning streak included 4 games vs teams ranked in the bottom 4 of the conference standings. The win at Creighton with Kadary getting hurt was quite the effort.

In 2021 we lose the last 4. 3 of them on the road, but two of them to Georgetown and Butler who finished below .500 in conference play. Aiken also never seemed to be 100% healthy down the stretch and eventually missed the BET (think he bumped heads with Shavar in practice…he was an injury waiting to happen).

So stating the obvious here. Who you play and who you play with, makes all the difference in these games.

It’s going to be a tough stretch, let just hope Kadary gets back to playing the way he was prior to the fall vs St Johns.

Creighton, Creighton, Creighton

Id go 2-1-3 from his list. The Creighton-Seton Hall game could be national game of the year at this point. That was epic. But I think it was TCU-Baylor that also had a 3OT.

The next four is a critical stretch before @ UConn and @Marquette. Those will be extremely tough games to win.

3-1 over the next four puts them at 11-5 before that two game gauntlet.

Point spreads will be low single digits for all four games. Good health and team ball that got them to 6-1. Starts with @Nova.

Let's see ow they do at Nova. This team has to play well at home and find a way to win on the road. The crowd has to be much more engaged than last night.

Seton Hall will be underdogs at Villanova and at St. John's. Definitely not games we "should" win, but they are winnable games if we play well.
Exactly. All four opponents are close match ups.

If Kalk is DPOY, that OT cannot happen. Not only Oduro but the other guy who drove baseline, deked him a little and laid it up from under the basket. Yeah I know, it's one game. But he got taken to the cleaners and it was pretty obvious Oduro was gonna go it again. And he did. And again.

Those two Carter 3s, gimme a break...that's a whole onion field

Debating a friend who says Carter is hands down better them Richmond
I say yes he's a better shooter no doubt but can't take a game over quite like Richmond can.
What say you guys?

He’s been doing it all throughout the year. The end of the Georgetown game up there was ridiculous.

Now, if Richmond had Carter’s motor, that would be something.

Have to go back and check Nova's free throw attempts. They killed us at the line during the Jay Wright era.Don't know if they still that whistle.

All you need to know about the Jay Wright whistle is that he had a tech called on him at the Rock that the officials then reversed. Never seen or heard of that before or since. It was at the end of the Powell from Trenton game.

I think that was a procedural overturn but dont remember the details
