MSM Crucible is Tuesday

Well they doubled down on day 1 after the loss. Just talking to an audience who doesn’t listen anymore.

Ana Navarro said she ran a flawless campaign talking to everyone.

David Axelrod and Van Jones talking about racism and sexism

Joy Reid well she continued being the same Joy Reid.

Playing to the base
I’m sure there are some in the party that get it, but the initial spin as pretty frightening as you pointed out. They are also blaming the pandemic now and of course Biden as he should have stuck to being the “transitional President”.

Saw Maxine Waters on Cuomo who had a bizarre take. First claimed his election was driven by white men and Latinos and of course that she was a black woman. Then she said that the “environment is changing” and Democrats need to understand that people “apply for job online vs going to an office and filling out paperwork”. WTF. She also said she would refuse to work with Trump on anything.

Nova in trouble

Nova culture is gone. Maybe inevitable and Wright may have seen this coming, but Neptune appears to have totally abandoned the HS recruit foundation and has heavied up on Transfers who just happen to be primarily motivated by $. That’s now how Nova built their Natty teams.

Neptune will likely lose the job after this year if they don’t make the NCAAs again, but whoever takes over the program from there needs to get back to the Nova culture which was primarily built on talented HS players who wanted to get developed and play into the Nova way so to speak.
I am not sure the Nova/Jay Wright culture can exist anymore with NIL. You are not going to develop kids and keep them for 3-4 years. It is just not going to happen. With that said, Neptune does appear "in over his head". I don't see him surviving after this year.

Election Prediction

Don’t put this past him, this would be the ultimate middle finger to msm and everyone who tortured him. This is his revenge campaign, sheep in wolf clothing type of deal. I can hear morning Joe calling for deportations. This would be his Abe Lincoln moment freeing the modern day slaves from the Democratic Party. Trust me people would love him forever, that’s his revenge. I would sign this legislation into law first 3 months in office. Give people 6 months to complete there application for citizenship. Don’t apply, get sent home.

So no one here has voted for or is going to vote for the treasonous coup-attempting felon rapist guy, right?

As more data comes out, single woman votes for Harris; married woman to Trump, which actually makes sense as a wife/mother is likely to put more weight in economy, immigration and crime.

Another stat on NN; Democrats voting for Harris overwhelming (over 80%) noted reproductive rights and democracy as two most important factors. Republicans noted immigration and economy….also over 80%.

Ironic (and hilarious) that the single most self inflicted wound for Harris was from her interview on The View about her answer to what she would do differently.

What happened to climate change being an existential threat?
Her biggest problem was not being able to think on her feet, she was clearly in over her head. I agree that comment and those ads changed the election. Trumps ad agency hit a home run and they rode that right to the presidency. They waited knowing she would make mistakes and then capitalized on them. What would you do differently? Nothing. Brilliant response for someone running to be President. Pretty basic question. She’s going to wake up in the middle of the night for years to come hearing herself say nothing. Think we have all been there before, wishing we said something differently. Kind of thing that drives people to drink.

Election Prediction

Trump has a chance to change the electorate in a very big way. Think about millions and millions of immigrants becoming Republican voters. Pass legislation that deports people who are found guilty of crimes and give others a path for citizenship to legally pay taxes and live in America. Turn the tables on the democrats quickly. He would become the greatest thing since sliced bread to millions of hard working families living here in the shadows. Type of thing that happens when you have a great salesman as President. He could lock up Republican victories for years to come by adding millions of voters. Think I’m crazy, I bet he’s thinking about it, he could cripple the Democratic Party for the next 25 years. The irony of this plan would delight his current voters and help raise tax revenues.
There was a great segment last night on Cuomo's show that included Stephen A. Smith and Bill O'Reilly regarding Trump, his priorities and transition team. He has an opportunity (especially with a Republican Congress) to do exactly that, and we know that he seeks adulation and creating this legacy that he was "the greatest President' of all time. Addressing the immigration issue would be a cornerstone. But as we say "Show me". He clearly has public support and mandate to get it done.

The MSM is already painting the policy as "mass deportation" which legally just cannot and will not happen, but let's remember how everyone was protesting against "The Wall" in 2016, but not hearing much pushback now. O'Reilly suggested that 1) put a 3-6 month halt on any asylum applications; 2) restart the building of barriers; 3) pressure Mexico - threaten with tariffs in order to get them to help secure the border on their end and also enable joint military action against the cartels (categorizing them as a terrorist organization). And there is going to need to be a path for citizenship included..

I know folks like to bicker back and forth here and all. And differ on matters of policy.

But I also know there are a lot of conservatives, republicans, and self-identified independents who presumably love the Constitution, representative democracy, and the rule of law. And surely none of them would vote for a demonstrated enemy of all those things. Because that would be debasing and shameful.

Cool.
box, seriously, reflect on this post now given the significant electoral and popular vote win by Trump. and he also picked up support from virtually every demographic compared to 2016 and 2020.

These results went way beyond the support of his MAGA loyalists. Why?

Election Prediction

4 points in Illinois. Four.

Won Miami-Dade, though Desantis paved the way for that.

Won freaking Nassau County, I believe.

Got something like 25% of the vote in the Bronx.

Won downstate Rockland County, NY, I believe.

Just wild stuff and it doesn’t seem anyone saw it coming.
It wasn’t that long ago, that Florida and Texas or trending purple. The thought that people from New York and California moving to those two states and that would eventually turn them blue. Trump won those two states by combine 3 million votes - more than Harris won NY and CA by - with Hispanics making a big difference.

I don’t know if it’s culture, that Neptune isn’t a good coach, or both. I hate rushing to judgment, but he massively underachieved last year with talent. If this isn’t an early season “hiccup” and Nova massively underachieves again, I can see them looking to make a change.

The one area of disagreement I have with your post is the view that the Nova transfers are “primarily motivated by $”. How are their kids any different than ours or anyone else for that matter?

Dixon and Longino are from the old Wright model and they have a number of freshman who were good recruits like Hodge. So I’m not sure if they have fully abandoned the continuity and development route, and they had guys last year who fit that mold as well.

I just think Neptune may be a problem.

You know the old saying you don't want be the guy who follows a legend. You want to be the guy who follows the guy who follows the legend.

A good Villanova is good for the big east.

Election Prediction

GOP in NJ has to be excited after the last few cycles. Nearly unseated Murphy in 2021, now Trump only loses the state by 5% or less (I believe it could get tighter based on where that final 10% of the vote will come from). Still a tough hill to climb, but a once deep blue state might only be blue right now. Trending in a different direction. Can they win the governor's race next year?

Fanta to NBC

Spoke to John before the game. He gave me some details about the baby but politely didn't want the news shared.

They know the sex of the baby and they have a name already picked out.

Let's hope for a very healthy child who some day will be a student at the Hall.
He talked about it on air at the UConn game that the baby is a little boy. Sarah K. was very gracious and talked about how she thought. He and Lisa would make great parents. John seemed genuinely touched. He's definitely living his best life. Again, I'm happy for him.

Election Prediction

Well, I was dead wrong.

The most fascinating aspect of this is going to be how the Democrats react. Not in accepting the election results, but in how they act going forward.

They threw everything at this guy. Called him every name. And yet somehow he pulls off the most miraculous comeback in political history, after pulling off the most stunning win in political history 8 years ago.

And not in a nail biter. An absolute, freaking landslide. Electorally. And the popular vote.

If you are a professional Democrat or operative, how do you square away what happened? Armed with a billion dollars and every mainstream media outlet not named Fox acting as surrogates for your candidate against what seemed like the most vulnerable opposition candidate in history.

If it were me, I would take a long, hard look at what happened here. And I certainly wouldn't double-down on all the stuff that last night showed doesn't work in the most spectacular fashion in history.
Not to mention turning NJ and Illinois into possible swing states. Early in the night when I saw Virginia numbers I knew this was going to be a long night for the Democrats. Seeing a less than 4 percentage point spread in NJ is amazing. Democrats definitely underestimated the Hispanic voters, they want the American dream and are willing to work for it.
