So no one here has voted for or is going to vote for the treasonous coup-attempting felon rapist guy, right?

Lots of post election analysis to digest. IMO there were multiple reasons why dems tanked. All the obvious ones; economy, border, DEI, wokeness factor, etc, etc. One reason I haven't seen much of on this board is the way that the dems have gone after Trump since the time he came down the levator in Trump Tower. 9 years!!!!! of mostly contrived allegations.

Love or hate Trump, you have got to admit they treated him in a deplorable manner. The two impeachments based on very very questionable premises..... all of the legal issues that they tried to bury him with. I think that people realize how undemocratic the democrat party has been for the last 9 years which somehow allowed the progressive party to thrive. An alternate untrue reality was created. Of course you'll hardly find a dem who will admit to this.... there are some... but while it was never listed as a major priority item in voters' minds. There's no question it was a lingering stench that helped push the vote RED.
Latisha James and Alvin Bragg did more to help Trump to get elected than any surrogate that he had. Everyone knew it was politically motivated. And the day after he gets elected she holds a press conference….smh.

  • Saturday’s matchup pits two former Seton Hall point guards against one another in Shaheen Holloway and Donald Copeland.
  • Holloway and Copeland both led the Pirates to NCAA Tournament appearances as seniors; Holloway in 2000 when The Hall went to the Sweet 16, Copeland in 2006 when he led that team with 16.1 ppg.
  • Seton Hall boasts five alumni in the head coaching ranks of Division I men’s basketball, the second-most in the country behind Duke (6); Grant Billmeier (NJIT), Donald Copeland (Wagner), Shaheen Holloway (Seton Hall), Dan Hurley (Connecticut), Levell Sanders (Binghamton).
  • Copeland has three Seton Hall alums on his staff, including two assistant coaches
  • Kevin Lynch was a walk-on at The Hall for one season in 2013-14 before serving under Willard and Holloway in various roles for nine seasons.
  • Kyle Smyth was on the 2012-13 squad and later became a valued staffer for Willard for 10 years as coordinator and director of basketball operations.
  • Tim Rodriguez, Wagner’s director of basketball operations, was a four-year manager at The Hall for both Willard and Holloway.
  • With the Pirates entering Wednesday’s game at 1-2, Holloway has stated that his team’s get better as the season goes along and the numbers back that up:

  • Seton Hall’s 25 wins last season tied for the fourth-most victories in program history and were the most wins for the Pirates since 2015-16 when they also won 25 games.
  • Seton Hall’s 13 BIG EAST wins tied for the second-most conference victories in program history with the 2019-20 squad and was one victory shy from tying the 1992-93 team’s 14 BIG EAST wins.
  • After finishing with 13 BIG EAST victories last season, Seton Hall has won 10 or more BIG EAST games eight times since the league realigned in 2013-14, which is tied for the third most in the conference.

While I agree, no matter who is on the floor right now there’s too much traffic. Until that clears with a coherent offensive flow or a PG who knows what he’s doing, it won’t matter offensively, and we’ll continue to have turnover problems when passing the ball and a shocking lack of scoring with woeful shooting percentages. Very rarely does anyone get the ball in good scoring position over 3 games.

Dual has gone from 29 to 24 to 9 minutes, from start to bench. Harmon has given us a grand total of 14 minutes over 3 games. Things are going well.

Remember how tough it was for Richmond and Samuel in Sha’s first year, especially the non-conference portion? I think we’re underestimating the “Sha Adjustment Period” for players maybe. And with the success Sha has had, he won’t change until the bottom falls out. So we shall see what happens here.
Agree with most everything you posted, with the exception of this sentence: "And with the success Sha has had, he won’t change until the bottom falls out."

I don't pretend to be able to see into the brain of Sha, and he has forgotten more about coaching than I'll ever know. If he is committed to "his way", I think that simply because how he's wired and because what he thinks works best from his ample time as a player and coach. I don't think though it has anything to do with "the success Sha has had", because Sha hasn't had enormous success yet in the Big East. His career at St. Peter's was trending as "fine" before the amazing Elite 8 run; without that run, it looks like many other mid-major resumes, and plenty of mid-major coaches have done just as good if not better over the course of their entire careers at one spot (like Tim Cluess, as an example, who absolutely dominated that same conference for years). And while Sha did a good job overall last year in having our team finish in top half of the league and just narrowly missing the dance, he is still 0-2 in getting to the NCAAs for a program that basically lived there for half-a decade+ before he took the reigns.

I'm sure Sha has strong views on how he wants to coach and play, and like any other good coach he adjusts as needed to fit the circumstances. If he's stubborn -- well, many good coaches are -- and I don't know if he's more or less stubborn than most. But I don't think any perceived lack of change is because he thinks he's been so successful at this thus far at Seton Hall. Because he hasn't.

State of the Union After 3 Games

Sha's bravado doesn't really bother me. He also said -

"So what should I say to the fan base, because everybody keeps asking me that same question? Step by step. We’re gonna put it together, we’re gonna figure it out. I gotta get back in the lab and tweak some things, and get the guys ready for Saturday against a good Wagner team.”

That's all I can ask.

It's tough to watch this group struggle and in the end they may fail. But I will keep going to the games.

Yeah I’m meeting a buddy in Charleston. He lives in Aiken but knows Charleston and has our restaurants lined up. Hope to meet some posters at the pregame receptions.
The arena is in a great spot, can walk w everywhere. Enjoy!

Gotta start making up for these losses. Showing well and winning that tournament is a good start especially with neutral game against VCU to lead it off. But there’s nothing to show we can be that kind of team yet. 🤦‍♂️

Agree with Jerry. It has to be Godswill and Toume at the 5&4. Jenkins needs to be on the court for 35 minutes if necessary. But it all comes down to the PG— Dual but he needs development. The quandary is how many games can we lose while he gets his feet under him playing the 1.

Jerry is on point with how to approach the future.
*We’re not going dancing this year so show improvement heading into February/ March.
*Keep a core together for next year— Dual, Godswill, Coleman, Middleton (plus Gus and Felton).
*Supplement with some key transfers.
The most important step is keeping a core together for two years. Do we have the NIL to do that?

State of the Union After 3 Games

One thing people are missing is we lost to Fordham and Hofstra. They're not bad programs by any means but they're definitely programs we should be able to out recruit and beat. So while I hear what everyone is saying about the NIL and the portal, a lot of the struggles we've seen so far in the non conference part of our schedule is on Coach Sha. If we were losing to UConn and Creighton you'd have a point but Sha failed to put together a roster that can beat mid major opponents at home. This team looks like a MAAC level program which which is where Sha came from. TBH his recruiting so far hasn't been very good. 2 out of the 3 freshman he brought in last year were way out of their league in Ozdogan and Malachi Brown. Sha can coach but his eye for talent as a recruiter at this level has a ways to go

Sha’s biggest problem going back to St. Peters has been his offense. Point blank he is compensated way too highly for his offenses to play so consistently anemic. In this day & age thats a death sentence. Like Willard he seems to have too big of an ego to let someone else run it. Team has no system, no identity. Experienced talent last year carried them but you still had periods of drought. In terms of his style he’s actually quite similar to Willard.

Honestly, can anyone answer this question - what is Sha’s offensive philosophy?
