Worst Team in the Big East

I still think revenue sharing can help (a little) I just haven’t seen anything released from the school about the idea

Of course our revenue is probably small BUT we offer so few sports compared to most if not all peer schools we should be able to supplement $$ towards or NIL and help the cause

I’ve been killed as a KW fanboy (even though I posted he should be fired after Marquette) and a sha hater..but I think legitimate criticism of Sha during NIL is he has a track record of being way way off on nil market values and talent evaluation.

There were several of us to point out when he scoffed at Tyreses number that it was actually very bargain based..there are a few of these examples out there
l'm no insider but my understanding is that SHU did not have enough NIL funds to match Florida's offer. I read that Samuels said he was staying at SHU and content with his NIL compensation but approached Sha the next day to advise him that Fla offered him $300,000 which SHU could not match.

Enough is Enough: The Leadership Failures at Seton Hall

You’re less well known than you imagine.

You’ve seen nothing but news paper/media reports.

I prefer to weigh real evidence before believing accusations that impugn the character of Reilly. And to those who accuse Hank of some type of corporate speak cover up shame on you.

To all of you judging on the media reports do future accuseds a favor and get yourself excused from jury duty.

Sad that so many are prepared to believe the worst. The kangaroo court is alive and well.

As if our season wasn’t back enough we have the full on bashing of everyone associated with the University.

Signing off. You’ll have one less voice urging facts before judgment.
We hired a guy associated with McCarrick. That is about as dumb as it comes.

It is unfortunate for a man to get caught up in circumstances. The McCarrick incident and his punishment of being sent to the Vatican, is fact, not kangaroo court. Our new pres' actions in that sordid affair are those of a company man. He acted like the rest of the church - look the other way...stay downstairs.

The other point is that the university has to come to the realization that there is no way Reilly can be an effectual, credible leader now. He leaves the university with no leg to stand on even from a simple point of enforcing its own policies on Code of Conduct, Ethics, etc. When your top leader did not abide by those policies & was rewarded with a promotion, there is no defensibility an organization then has to enforce the same for everyone else. There is no path forward.

Enough is Enough: The Leadership Failures at Seton Hall

We have plenty of discussions on NIL and everything else. While the Board's failure there plays a part in the overall assessment of how they're leading the university, let's keep this and the pressure focused on the real issue - the appointment of the President & the failure of fiduciary responsibilities there. The doubling down by Hank D'Alessandro while more details squeak out on the precise points of why this was an absolute horrid decision screams for a complete reversal in stance, which IMHO is too far gone to be believable at this point, or admittance of wrongdoing to allow new leaders to come in.

Enough is Enough: The Leadership Failures at Seton Hall

Can’t argue with HallX2 noting that a big part of our problem is an apathetic alumni base. But this is nothing new; it’s been this way ever since i remember being a student and then young alumni at SHU in the late 80s into the 90s. Unfortunately the school has done a poor job cultivating alumni engagement over the years, and then what’s become really obvious is a terrible job with fund raising with the high net worth alum. But you really can’t do the latter when you’ve done a historically poor job with alumni engagement and keeping a large commuter population feeling like they had a positive experience.

I’m sure the school has studied what Villanova does so well to have the level of engagement and alumni fund raising that they get. More importantly, they should be hiring more people from Villanova to help out situation here.
Look at Onward Setonia's membership levels and then go look at Providence or Nova's NIL sites.

Onward Setonia's top level membership $89 month with limited benefits
Providence, Nova, and almost every other school's top level membership $1000 month with some attractive benefits depending on the school. $500 a month at Maryland you can attend a practice with a guest.

Its like SHU is on the corner begging for change and everyone is else is trying to cultivate new donors. I am not saying this is suddenly going to get hundreds of new donors giving $10K per year, but it seems like the admin is accepting their fate and they can only go to the same group of known donors.

Marquette @ St. Johns tonight

This should be a big game.

I hope it’s takes on a mini “event” theme today on local radio/tv etc

I think the BE needs a good game with legit teams in a rocking MSG…it’s something that differentiates the league

I have been upset recently when you watch B1G or SEC matchups..on tv the arenas and atmosphere is top notch than when you watch a BE game (some not all) it’s embarrassing

DePaul/SHU looked like a modified game.. gtown games have looked terrible, our games etc

This will be good for the league

Eads Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week; Masonius Honor Roll

If you're looking to pay someone to stay for next season, Jada Eads would be our best representative for NIL.
It's important to support Tony's team. He is trying to get enough money to ensure she stays. She's only a freshman and many schools will be targeting her. Guessing her value will be in the $10-15,000 range. I have helped Tony. Hope you guys do. Send in your donations and mark them for the women's team.

I don't see the NIL situation changing much regardless of who is the coach. I think success would bring in more fair-weather fans and $50-$100 donations, but I'm not sure there would ever be enough of them to really boost the budget into a competitive range.

I'm more concerned that this disaster of a season is going to make our bigger donors reassess how much they're contributing. I couldn't imagine giving tens of thousands of dollars, if not more, to the NIL and this being my return on investment. I certainly don't think I would be inclined to double down and give even more for next season.

If that's the case and the NIL budget shrinks I don't know how we get out of this hole with Sha's current philosophy. The program needs to reinvent itself and take on some sort of identity. I don't know what the best approach would be, but that's the only way I see the team being successful.

Run and gun and shoot 30+ 3's a game, play 40 minutes of full court pressure defense, or play a 1-3-1 zone like Beilein did back in the day. It's going to have to be something like that, IMO.
I can think of 2.5 million ways Sha can save his job.
