If there is a good chance Rutgers could lose, it is better to play at a neutral site than at home from a NET standpoint.

I guess I just think the idea that Princeton should be avoided at all costs is silly. Challenge yourself! Also, if playing Princeton were really such an impossible task, why don't they make the Final Four every year they make the NCAAs? It's just sour grapes and excused. I know the NET argument, but, you know ... win the game, then. And if it turns out that they really are a formidable opponent, then the committee will be able to distinguish that and pull it out from the silly ratings metrics (which, of course, are given far too much emphasis).

That's nonsense. It's a quality of depth issue. Can't play your regulars max minutes every game & expect them not to break down as the season progresses.

I was literally run out of a Rutgers board for merely suggesting the idea with another sport. That parochialism will have a negative impact down the line, especially with the coming implosion that will be NCAA Football.

Not sure we disagree. How much better were PJ's teams in February and March than other points. Depth definitely plays a huge role, but teams cannot perform at optimum level for 5 months.
